Michigan is just humming along looking to get to the final game against Ohio State unscathed. They may catch some grief for their light schedule but at the same time they have dominated.
Only their 14-7 win against Wisconsin was decided by a touchdown or less and their average margin of victory has been 38 points.

It has been a struggle all season for the Hawkeyes, who were kind of put on notice when they lost to North Dakota State earlier in the season.
Nothing has been easy for Iowa this season and they have lost to straight heading into this one. Still a night home game can be pretty interesting.
Michigan Wolverines
All season long the Wolverines have been maligned for playing a light schedule and not having much of an offense.
Sure they throw up a lot of points but a lot of that has to do with an elite defense putting the offense in great position.
QB Wilton Speight never really looks that good even though Jehu Chesson and Amarah Darboh he has two explosive weapons and TE Jake Butt is of NFL calibre for sure.
The pieces are there for this group to be a lot better but as it is they are able to score more than enough to win.

On defense no program has been better than Big Blue.
They are first in yards and points allowed and in Jabril Peppers have the most versatile elite defensive player in the country.
I am not sure whether he can truly be a threat to win the Heisman but I do know that he makes plays, lots of them, and he is having a tremendous season.
This defense is not exactly overperforming either. They are loaded with talent.
Iowa Hawkeyes
The Hawkeyes just never found their groove this season.
Before the end of the first month they had lost to NDSU and barely won at Rutgers. On offense they never seem to be all that dynamic but things seem to have taken a step backward this season.
C.J. Beathard was one of those guys who was quietly building an NFL resume but now you have to wonder if he will even get drafted. Only three times all season has he thrown for more than 200 yards.
I know this is Iowa but it is still 2016. Speight looks like Andre Ware by comparison.

The defense has been solid but unspectacular. Desmond King is likely the top corner in America but after picking off 8 passes last year he has just one so far.
All season long they have been missing those kind of game changing plays and the overall talent is not enough to just to go toe to toe with opponents.
They still need one win to get bowl eligible but given their play it is not a gimme, even with a trip to Illinois next week.

Michigan has a simple path at this point, they just need to keep winning and they are in.
Iowa is never really as good as their record indicates but that might not be the case as they are just over .500 this season (though the way they got there is kind of interesting).
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Michigan -21.5
Those hooks are killers, especially when the spread is up there.
Still I like Big Blue in this one. I just don’t see the Hawkeyes being able to mount much of an attack and this one should play out to the Wolverines winning every quarter by a touchdown.
That math works.
