Two first year coaches have turned prestige programs around and these two teams will battle it out on a New Years Day Bowl.

Florida coach Jim McElwain led the Gators to an SEC East Title and Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh led Michigan to a 9 win season, but lost in his first rendition of the Ohio State-Michigan game to finish the season off.
Michigan
The Wolverines should consider this season a success, but don’t tell Jim Harbaugh and company that.
Two of Michigan’s losses came to their arch rivals as Michigan State returned a punt as time expired and Ohio State went into the Big House and took it to the Wolverines. Jim Harbaugh will look to grab a signature win against a top team now and finish the season off with double digit wins.

QB Jake Rudock started the season off sluggish, but really took off down the stretch. Rudock threw for 1296 yards and 11 touchdowns over his final 4 games. He did leave the Ohio State game with an injury, but is expected to play in the Citrus Bowl.
Jake Butt and Jourdan Lewis have both announced they will be returning for their Senior seasons. Butt had 48 receptions this season for 620 yards and hauled in 3 touchdowns. Lewis ranked 3rd in the nation with 19 pass breakups.
Safety Jabrill Peppers played both sides of the ball and claimed Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors.
Florida
While the Gators had one of the top defenses in the nation, their offense was on the opposite side of the spectrum.
Florida’s defense allowed just 16.5 points per game this season, but their offense manufactured just 24.5 points per game. They really struggled down the stretch of the season as they nearly fell to Florida Atlantic at home and then had no answer for the Alabama defense.

QB Treon Harris failed to reach over 200 yards in his final 3 games and led Florida to just 17 points over their final two games.
Florida has had some success against the Big 10, but has not faced an opponent from that conference since 2010. They’ve won 2 straight, including a win over the Buckeyes in that 2010 meeting.
Defensive end Alex McCalister, who has been out since Nov. 15, is expected to miss the Citrus Bowl. Brandon Powell is expected to play despite his foot injury.

Free Citrus Bowl NCAA Football Prediction
The Wolverines have the edge here. Michigan has the same dominant defense, but their offense is much better. Still, expect both defenses to dominate here, with this being a low scoring, grind it out game.
