It’s not that long ago that this was the top rivaalry in college football. Miami seeemed to always ge the better of their rival then..
Things have definitely swing towards FSU the last couple of seasons though.

It is too bad the Canes lost their last game to Cincinnati otherwise this would have been a battle of unbeatens.
Miami
Coach Al Golden has to be mostly happy with his squad so far. The first two games were gimmes but they outlasted Nebraska before losing to Cincinnati on the road.
Quarterback Brad Kaaya continues to perform well beyond the spotlight of big time competition – yes I am writing that about the U. He has some speed at his disposal and will have to be sharp on Saturday night.

The Canes can also be balances thanks to a couple of backs ripping off more than 7 yards per carry. Even though the Noles may not be the Noles of a couple of years ago you definitely don’t want to be one dimensional against them.
Speaking of yesteryear it is interesting that Miami just can’t seem to get the same kind of defensive players they used to. They used to send a slew of players to the NFL every season now they are lucky if one makes it.
The Hurricanes could be a live dog but everything will have to break for them.
Florida State
This year’s FSU team is proof positive that not all undefeated seasons are created equal. The Noles are 4-0 but they haven’t beat anyone of consequence and they haven’t looked all that good doing it. They only won by 8 at Wake Forest.
The defensive numbers look good but Everett Golson has not been all that special as a grad transfer. He has been effective avoiding turnovers but the only game he has had with more than 202 yards and 1 TD was the opener against FCS Texas State.

On defense they are putting up good numbers but that is not too difficult given their schedule. Teams like Wake Forest and Boston College are going to struggle this season against all competition – BC only scored 7 against Duke.
For FSU to really win big they are going to need RB Dalvin Cook to shine. His overall numbers look good but if you look more closely he has slumped since the competition got better in conference.

I hope I am not getting with my heart here but I see a close game like we used to between these two.

I would love to call the upset but I think you will see a sluggish contest won by a FG by the homeside.
