Miami ended a 4 game losing streak by beating Pittsburgh last week, while Virginia is on a 4 game losing streak of their own.
Miami Hurricanes
During the 4 game losing streak Brad Kaaya was very inconsistent for the Hurricanes. He came through in a big way last week against the Panthers secondary.
The talented junior was 32-47 for 356 yards and 4 touchdowns. He will need to keep up his strong play in order for the Hurricanes to avoid the upset.
Traveling to Charlottesville this week can be a trap game for Miami as they try to become bowl eligible. Expect Kaaya to throw for 2 touchdowns and 250 yards.
Sophomore Mark Walton made the most of his touches last week. The sophomore carried the ball 14 times for 125 yards and a score (long run of 55 yards). He also was a threat receiving the ball as he had 3 catches for 24 yards.
He has caught 3 passes in 6 straight games and I don’t see any reason why that streak won’t continue in this one.
Stacey Coley has been a consistent possession receiver for the Hurricanes. He leads the team with 8 touchdowns and last week caught 9 passes for 59 yards and 2 of those scores.
The Cavaliers defense has been vulnerable all season long so look for Coley to get 8 catches and find the end zone again in this game.

The Hurricanes defense has given up over 31 points per game in the last 3 contests. If they can’t find a way to limit the mistakes in the secondary Virginia might have a chance at pulling off the upset.
Virginia Fighting Cavaliers
Kurt Benkert took a beating last week against the Demon Deacons. The senior was sacked 5 times in the loss. His play has been sporadic the last two weeks. He finished the Wake Forest game 20-39 for 190 yards with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.
With the speed on the Miami defensive line I don’t think Benkert will be able to play well enough to earn the victory. The offensive line should give up at least 4 sacks this week.
Taquan Mizzell has been a consistent back for the Cavaliers this year. The senior ran the ball 16 times for 80 yards, and also caught 6 passes for 79 yards and a score.
If he gets the ball 20 times he should be able to put up similar numbers, but Miami’s offensive scoring should keep the Cavaliers from focusing on running the ball effectively.

The Cavaliers defense shut down the Wake Forest passing game last week, keeping them under 100 yards through the air. Can they keep up the momentum in this contest?
I don’t see it happening. Brad Kaaya and the rest of the Hurricanes offense is too talented to have a poor game against this weaker roster.
