Arkansas will start an Allen at quarterback for the fourth straight season but this year it will be a different one. After Brandon Allen finished off his career at Arkansas with an impressive 8-5 season, his younger brother, Austin, will take over for the Razorbacks.

Arkansas has similar hopes for this season while Louisiana Tech undoubtedly is expecting a downfall from their 9-4 season as they have to replace 13 starters including their quarterback.
Louisiana Tech Bulldogs
The Bulldogs played themselves into a bowl game for the second straight season where they dismantled Arkansas State, 47-28. They are well aware this team from Arkansas presents a whole different set of challenges.
Louisiana Tech will be replacing starting quarterback and former Florida Gator, Jeff Driskel. Ja’Mar Smith has been named the Week 1 starter for the Bulldogs and he has big shoes to fill.
Driskel threw for over 4000 yards last season with 27 touchdowns to just 8 interceptions. Replacing a quarterback is nothing new for Skip Holtz and the Bulldogs though as this will be their fourth straight season with a new quarterback.
Smith will have his hands full right out of the gate with a Razorback defense that brings back 9 starters.

Smith opened spring camp as third on the quarterback depth chart and worked his way to the starting role. While there is no question Holtz is putting his best quarterback on the field, any player that started spring camp third on the depth chart has their flaws.
Surely, the Arkansas defense will be able to bring out those flaws on Saturday afternoon in Fayetteville.
In addition to their quarterback, the Bulldogs also have to replace 8 defensive starters.
While Louisiana Tech will bring in $925k in revenue guaranteed, there is no telling how damaging this result could be to their confidence going forward.
Arkansas Razorbacks
In addition to Brandon Allen, the Razorbacks also have to replace standout tailback Alex Collins.
The offensive line – which was known for being built like a pro offensive line – will also lose three starters. The O-line last season had an average weight heavier than any professional or NCAA team.
They also lose Hunter Henry – who won the award as the nation’s top tight end. They’ll bring their other four top receivers besides him but Henry was a huge part of the Razorback offense in 2015.

The offensive unit will go through some growing pains for sure and after Louisiana Tech, they go play at TCU.
You can imagine Bret Bielema will want them playing at a solid rhythm before that game and therefore will play his starters the full 60 no matter what the score is.

Free Week 1 NCAA Football Prediction
The Arkansas defense should win them this game as they are experienced and talented and new Bulldog quarterback Smith will look to run more than he should.
The Razorbacks may sputter out of the gate but shouldn’t have a problem covering the 26 as they look to be running on all cylinders before TCU.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Arkansas -26.0
Don’t be alarmed by a slow start for the Razorbacks. They have a lot of new players so they could struggle but it won’t be as problematic as it will for Louisiana Tech replacing 13 starters.
