1 of 2 MACtion matchups takes place down in Athens, Ohio as the Kent State Golden Flashes get set to take on the Ohio Bobcats Tuesday night.
Kent State comes in with just 3 wins as they continue to find ways to lose games. Last week, Buffalo dropped the Golden Flashes with a touchdown with just seconds to go.

As for the Bobcats, they sit at 5-4 and are just 1 game away from bowl eligibility. They had their chances to keep the game close last week, but Bowling Green eventually pulled away and sent them to 2-3 in MAC.
Kent State
The Golden Flashes can point just above every finger at their offense as the main reason for their failures. Kent State once again scored just 17 points in another defeat with 7 of those points coming from the defense on a pick six.
Kent State’s offense ranks 122nd in the nation with just 297.3 yards per game. They are one of the most balanced offenses as they rush for 150.3 yards per game and pass for 147.0.
A lack of a definitive QB has been the reason for that 122nd ranking. Both Colin Reardon and George Bollas have alternated this season as neither has found consistency or success for that matter. It was Bollas who started in the loss to Buffalo, only to be replaced by Reardon early in the game.

Reardon has been the better of 2 as he’s completed 46.1 of his passes on the season and has 6 touchdowns to 4 interceptions. He leads a Kent State offense that is averaging just 15.9 points per game this season.
The run game gets no better for Kent either. RB Trayion Durham leads the charge as he’s racked up 346 yards and a pair of touchdowns this season. The big tailback is averaging just 38.4 yards per game.
Ohio
The Bobcats have realistically been eliminated from the MAC East title and will now focus on grabbing 1 more win to get themselves bowl eligible. Ohio needs just 1 win to complete that feat and a win over Kent State is a very realistic opportunity to do just that.
The Bobcats defense has been the key for them as of late in terms of their failures and losses. They endured another major setback, this time to Bowl Green as they just couldn’t find anyway to slow down the pass attack.

The OU defense allowed 581 yards and 62 points as they just simply had no answer. Overall, this Bobcats defense is averaging 27.3 points against and 393.7 yards against per game.
Offensively, they sit 59th in the nation, as they rack up 406.0 yards per game. They’re led QB Derrius Vick, who has thrown for 1734 yards to go along with 9 touchdowns. Vick is averaging just 193 yards passing per game which puts a lot of pressure on the Bobcats’ run game.
RB Daz’mond Patterson has tallied 392 yards on the ground and 43 yards through the air with a total of 8 touchdowns.

Free Week 11 NCAA Football Prediction
Kent State’s offense just isn’t good enough right now to get over that hump. They nearly had Buffalo last week, which would have gave them a chance at a bowl berth, but their inability to put games away with touchdown drives led to their dismay.
