Iowa continues its romp through the Big Ten on Saturday with a trip out to Bloomington to take on Indiana.
The College Football Playoff selection committee has certainly taken notice of the Hawkeyes’ play this season, bumping them up to the No. 9 spot in their initial set of rankings.

If the Hawkeyes can continue this type of play into the Big Ten title game where they are in line to meet either Ohio State or Michigan State, a win there could open up a spot in the playoff for this surprise Iowa team.
Iowa
The running back position was a weakness for the Iowa football program for many years, but that isn’t the case anymore.
Sophomore rushers Akrum Wadley and Derrick Mitchell have given the team a legitimate threat on the ground. Combined with the return of LeShun Daniels, the team is now flush with talent at the position.

The team’s leading rusher, Jordan Canzeri, remains down with an ankle sprain, but the emergence of his backfield mates will allow him time to heal up.
With a win Saturday, the program can match the team can match the best start in school history.
Indiana
That Iowa rushing attack is going to mean trouble for Indiana.
The Hoosiers rank 12th out of 14 teams in the Big Ten in rushing yards allowed on a per game basis. They also rank last in the conference in total defense, giving up 508.6 yards per game.

Prior to Indiana’s bye, the Hoosiers surrendered 540 yards in a 52-26 loss to then-No. 7 Michigan State.
The Hoosiers have now lost four in a row since starting the season 4-0.
