The Iowa State Cyclones are travelling to Lawrence this week to take on the Kansas Jayhawks in a Big 12 matchup. Both teams have struggled in and outside the conference this week and neither has won a Big 12 game.

The Cyclones have lost five in a row but were more competitive in some of those games than people expected.
They are currently 9th in the Big 12.
After winning their season opener in a 55-6 blowout over Rhode Island, they Jayhawks have dropped their last eight games and have been blown out in many of them.
They are in last place in the conference.
Iowa State Cyclones
Although they were unable to finish the job, the Cyclones played Oklahoma very tough last week and actually had a lead in the first half.
Many people expected it to be a blowout– and rightfully so– but the Cyclones hung in to till the end and lost 34-24.

The Cyclones have a relatively effective passing game that ranks 56th in the nation with 242.1 passing yards per game.
They are led by junior quarterback Joel Lanning who has thrown for 1,224 yards with nine touchdowns and only three interceptions.
However, they have been unable to turn the yards into points or keep other teams off the scoreboard.
They are 99th in scoring offense (24.0 points per game) and 100th in scoring defense (32.6 points against per game).
Kansas Jayhawks
Let’s be honest; it’s hard to say anything good about the Jayhawks this year.
Fans were hopeful after the season opener, but things were all downhill from there. The last time they lost by less than 24 points was on October 8th when they took TCU to the wire but lost 24-23.

Kansas has had trouble putting up points this year.
They are 124th in all of CFB in scoring offense with only 19.6 points per game.
The defense has been even worse, allowing 463.6 yards per game and 40.2 points per game. They are only seven spot from the bottom in defensive ranking, coming in at 121st in the nation.

Free Week 11 NCAA Football Prediction
Neither of these teams has been good this year, but the Cyclones do have more talent than their 1-8 record would indicate.
Their strength is definitely on offense, and it will be hard for the awful Kansas defense to keep them off the scoreboard.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Iowa State -10.5
Although they have the home field advantage this week, the Jayhawks would need a lot to go right for them to win this game.
They did surprise many people at home against TCU a few weeks ago, but they have lost the last four games since then by an average of 36.5 points.
