Houston has crashed the New Years 6 and will look for just their 2nd 13 win season in school history when they take on the Florida State Seminoles on New Years Eve.
This game already has some drama added to it as Seminoles QB Everett Golson did not travel with the team to Atlanta.

The senior class for Florida State will be look for their 50th win, which would be the first time a senior class won that many games in a 4 year span.
Houston
While it looked like Houston’s New Years 6 Bowl dreams had crash and burned, they rebounded and got the clutch wins to get themselves into this current position.
Houston was undefeated when they welcomed in Memphis for a battle that got national attention. Starting QB Greg Ward Jr. ended up leaving the game with the injury, only to have the backup lead them to a 2nd half comeback.
Ward Jr. sat out the next game in Connecticut and the Huskies upset the Cougars. That didn’t stop Houston as Ward Jr. returned to beat Navy and then knock off Temple in the title game.

While Greg Ward Jr. threw for 16 touchdowns this season, his running abilities along side Kenneth Farrow Jr. make this team one of the most dangerous in football Ward Jr. rushed for 1041 yards to go along with 19 touchdowns while Farrow had 949 yards and 12 TDs.
Houston’s defense has also been a major factor this season. They have a plus 17 margin and have racked up 30 takeaways.
Florida State
The Seminoles really took off when they decided to go a different direction with their QB situation.
Half way through the season, Everett Golson was replaced by Sean Maguire and Florida State found a lot of success. They won’t have to worry about any sort of controversy heading into this one, but will also have no proven back up as Golson has did not travel with the team.

QB Sean Maguire went for 1128 yards and threw for 9 touchdowns to just 2 interceptions during his time as a starter.
His success has had a lot to do with RB Dalvin Cook, who has proven to be one of the best backs in the nation. Cook has the most rushes of 20+ yards in the nation as he sits with 22. On the season, Cook has rushed for 1658 yards to go along with 18 touchdowns.
