With each team coming off of upsets over ranked conference opponents, Pittsburgh and Duke will be looking to avoid a letdown in this matchup.
The quarterback play will be the key to watch for as both signal callers have been playing well lately and are coming off of solid performances in their wins last week.
Duke Blue Devils
The Blue Devils hosted the Tar Heels in their big time rivalry game last week and came out with the victory straight up after being two touchdown underdogs.

It was Duke’s first ACC win of the season and it was largely due to freshman quarterback Daniel Jones. Jones threw for 240 yards and a touchdown while running for another 94 and 2 touchdowns.
That is two straight games with 90 or more rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns for Jones. Jones’s ability to run the football forces defenses to focus on that which allows for Jones to be more efficient in the passing game – probably the weaker part of his game.
The Blue Devil defense slowed down the high-powered Tar Heel offense last week and will be up against another strong ACC offense in the Panthers who are averaging 37 points per game this season and put up 43 last week on the great Clemson defense.

The defense will need to continue to play well but Jones will have to be effective throwing the football. His running ability is good but Duke will need to stretch the field in order to pull off another upset.
The Blue Devils are 4-6 but a bowl bid is still in play and along with their win last week against North Carolina, they played Louisville, Virginia Tech, and Georgia Tech close – losing the three by a combined 16 points.
Pittsburgh Panthers
The lone bad mark on the Panthers schedule this season is their 23 point loss to Miami. They have wins over Clemson and Penn State – both top 10 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings.
Also, Pittsburgh lost by 3 to Virginia Tech, 7 to Oklahoma State, and 1 to North Carolina – all teams that are either in the rankings or have been recently.
The Panthers have played good football this season – despite the weaknesses on their defense.
Pittsburgh is allowing 34 points per game and have had to win in shootout fashion multiple times.
However, the dynamic duo of quarterback Nate Peterman and running back James Conner has made that pretty easy to do.
Peterman has a 19 to 4 touchdown to interception ratio while Conner is averaging 4.8 yards per carry and has rushed for 12 touchdowns on the season.
The combination of passing and running threats has made Pittsburgh difficult – something Clemson found to be true last week. The Panthers are better than their record shows – as seen by their close results against other good FBS teams.

The key to this week is not letting down after their win against Clemson and to follow it up with another win on the road toward their impending bowl bid.
I expect the leadership of Peterman and Conner to be an important factor in this game as the Panthers should be able to outscore yet another ACC opponent.

Free Week 12 NCAA Football Prediction
I don’t think either team will letdown as Duke are underdogs again and are playing for a bowl bid and the Panthers are a strong football team with things left to prove.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Game Total Over 63.5
I think this is a great play to go over as Pitt hasn’t been able to stop anyone and their offense is very good. Jones has improved offensively for the Blue Devils and has played his best games on the road.
I like Duke to put up plenty of points but likely not enough to get the win.
