Colorado is hoping to rebound from their awful loss as they hope to recapture the Boot once again.
Colorado State Rams
Things have been going very well for the Colorado State Rams this year, highlighted by a win over Oregon State of the Pac-12, respectable showings against Colorado (Pac-12) and Number 1 Alabama (SEC), and a 4–1 record in the Mountain West.
Most recently, though, the Rams went from very good to pretty good when they allowed a downtrodden Air Force team to beat them at home.
The Falcons came back from a seven-point deficit in the second quarter, outscoring CSU by 24 points down the stretch. Of course, playing against service-academy teams can be tough because of the triple-option attack they use, and that was exactly the case in this game.

Air Force dominated the ball for more than two-thirds of the game, holding the Rams offense off the field for all but 18 minutes of action.
Besides getting eaten alive on defense, the Rams offense struggled just as bad. They turned the ball over three times via interception and accumulated almost 100 yards less than their season average. With that said, it was fluky. The Rams still lead the conference in passing offense and have the second-most points per game.
Wyoming Cowboys
Wyoming is a hard team not to root for. They’re literally all the state has when it comes to sports, with no professional teams or D-1 programs besides the Cowboys.
With that said, the fans love them even more when they’re winning, so lately it’s been bedlam in Laramie. The Cowboys have experienced a small renaissance over the last two seasons, kick-started by an eight-win season last year.
It was a welcomed surprise for the program, especially since they won just two games the previous season (2015). This year, the Pokes’ have gotten hot recently and are right on the cusp of another bowl game. They’ve won four of their last five games and still have a chance to win their division (Mountain) in the Mountain West.

On Saturday, the state of Wyoming will get a chance to show off their fandom for a national television audience on CBS Sports Network. It’s going to be a wild atmosphere under the lights of War Memorial Stadium, as the two teams meet for the 109th annual Border War game.
The Cowboys have the conference’s second-best defense, allowing less than 20 points per game. On offense, however, they’re ranked 10th out of 12 teams with just 25 points per contest.
