The FCS kicks off of with a giant matchup in Week 1 on Saturday night.
The #7 Charleston Southern Buccaneers get a chance at the #1 North Dakota State Bison. The matchup will be featured on ESPN, the first time for the CSU program.
Charleston Southern Buccaneers
The Buccaneers have plenty to build off of from last season.
The Buccaneers appeared in their first FCS Playoffs last season after running the table in the Big South.
After posting a school record 10 wins, the Buccaneers return many big playmakers here in 2016. The Buccaneers will be featured in many big games this season, which includes a date with #4 Florida State in Week 3.

QB Kyle Copeland will get the starting QB job this season, looking to turn it up a notch from last season.
Copeland appeared in 9 games while throwing for 425 yards and 5 touchdowns. Copeland will certainly be asked to do a lot more this season.

However, some of the pressure put on him will be taken off by the dynamic RB duo. Darius Hammond and Mike Holloway both return, a tandem that produced 19 touchdowns last season.
Look for the Buccaneers to really use the duo early on and try to set the pace. Charleston Southern will try to control the clock and keep the chains moving consistently, not allowing the dangerous Bison offense on the field.
Taking the crowd out of the game early will be crucial as well. This place will be rocking, especially given the national TV broadcast.
North Dakota State Bison
The Bison are no stranger to the big stage.
The 5 time defending champions have been a powerhouse in the FCS over the past two seasons. They have gone 28-3, but that will come at a price this season as they have to replace some key parts.
One in particular is the QB spot.

Carson Wentz has now moved onto the NFL, but he’ll be handing the torch off to Easton Stick.
Stick got plenty of experience last season after Wentz went down with an injury. He stepped in and went 8-0 helping the Bison to another title.
Stick will have plenty of experience in the backfield with him, as King Frazier returns. Frazier was the team’s leading rusher, starting 13 of the 15 games while compiling 1158 yards and 11 touchdowns to his credit.
