Central Michigan had started off the season with 3 wins and look to get win # 4 this week against the Cavaliers.

On paper you would believe the Cavaliers have the better match up due to more resources and playing in bigger conference, but Central Mich. is no easy victory.
Central Michigan Chippewas
Cooper Rush is a four year starter, whose numbers have improved every season since his freshman year. He is averaging over 300 yards passing and almost 4 TDs a game.
Look for Central Michigan to throw the ball around against a suspect Cavaliers defense.
The running game hasn’t done much as a unit so far this season due to the strong play of Cooper Rush, but Jonathan Ward will see a bulk of the carries. I expect 10 carries for around 70 yards and a score.
The receiving corps have been great to start the season, even though there hasn’t been one main target in Cooper Rush’s arsenal. I expect their top 3 receivers to all reach the 75 yard mark this week.

The defense looked good last week against UNLV, only giving up 131 yards passing and 2 interceptions. Outside of an 85 yard TD run by Lexington Thomas, the run defense was able to force UNLV to go one dimensional.
I expect another good performance this week.
Virginia Cavaliers
QB Kurt Benkert must play a much better game this week if the Cavaliers have any shot at a win. He has thrown at least 1 interception in each game this season, and has been sacked 10 times.
Albert Reid has had 2 strong performances in the last 2 losses. He has averaged over 5 yards per carry and reached the endzone the last two weeks. I expect him to score a touchdown and put in another good performance.
Keeon Johnson was the go to receiver last week. He is clearly Benkerts favorite target, and should see a number of passes come his way. He has the potential for a 6 catch 100 yards receiving day.

In a defensive struggle the Cavaliers couldn’t hold on to beat Uconn.
They did shut down the passing game by only giving up 154 yards through the air. Look for the secondary to face a tougher challenge this week, but I’m not sure if they can maintain this level of play.
The front seven will also need to do a better job stopping the running game. As Arkeel Newsome averaged 5.9 yards per carry on 13 runs last week.

Free Week 4 NCAA Football Prediction
The Central Michigan passing game will be too much for the Cavaliers, as I don’t see them having the offensive power to go score for score with the Chippewas.
Cooper Rush will throw for a few scores and reach the 300 yard mark again this week.

Central Michigan wins this game easily. The run defense will make Virginia one dimensional, which will play to their advantage as Virginia’s QB play has been spotty at best.
