Oklahoma State has become the afterthought of late when you think of the Big 12 powerhouses. Before Oklahoma State, the names Baylor, TCU, and Oklahoma come to mind.

Don’t tell the Cowboys that though. They have no problem being the forgotten ones because they will just “sneak” up again and win 10 games to play themselves into the Sugar Bowl.
The chip on the shoulder of Oklahoma State causes teams like SE Louisiana and Central Michigan to feel the effects.
Central Michigan Chippewas
Surely, both teams will be watching the tape from last season’s matchup where the Cowboys came to town and beat the Chippewas 24-13.
However, I imagine that performance will be difficult for the Chippewas to replicate as they played a nearly perfect game last season and still lost by 11.
Central Michigan held a 13-10 in the third quarter last season but gave up 14 straight to end the game as the Cowboys opened the 2015 season with a road win.

The Chippewas controlled the tempo of the game by winning time of possession. They performed better on third down than Oklahoma State and kept the Cowboys 60 yards under the season average.
However, Central Michigan turned the ball over once and failed to get any rushing attack going.
The Chippewas’ Week 1 victory over Presbyterian featured a heavy rushing attack but still only converted on 3 of 9 third downs.
That 3rd down efficiency will be problematic against an Oklahoma State defense that is much higher quality than FCS Presbyterian.
Oklahoma State Cowboys
Oklahoma State is sneaking under the radar yet again despite bringing back 16 starters from last season’s 10-3 team.
They are ranked 22nd while their Big 12 counterparts Texas, Oklahoma, and TCU all rank above them with Baylor one spot below at 23.
The most important starter back is quarterback Mason Rudolph who threw for 3770 yards and 21 touchdowns last season. They also bring back their entire offensive line as well as running backs and wide receivers with experience.
Oklahoma State has no true look ahead game next with Pittsburgh on their schedule before their Big 12 play gets rolling.
Rudolph completed 18 of 25 for 191 yards and 2 touchdowns last week before exiting the game. The Cowboys will continue to use a pass heavy offense and stick to that system even when gaining a big lead.

No player carried the ball more than 7 times in Week 1 and the offense accumulated just 144 rushing yards despite converting on 50 percent of third downs and holding the ball for more than half of the game.
The Cowboys have their eyes on bigger things than just a number 22 ranking and will look to prove that in a blowout victory.
NCAA Football Handicapping Trends

- Oklahoma State is 9-7 ATS in their last 16 non-conference games.
Free Week 2 NCAA Football Prediction
Central Michigan is respected by oddsmakers as well as coaches around the country as the MAC gains more respect.
But, they might be getting too much respect here as they will have a difficult time slowing down this Big 12 offense.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Oklahoma State -20.5
I like Rudolph and the Cowboys offense to score early and often in this one. The full game shouldn’t be a problem to cover and I like the first half even more so.
