“The Battle for the Golden Boot” continues its yearly tradition in the bayou this Saturday, as visiting Arkansas is buttressed from its crazy OT win last week against ranked Ole Miss and the home side Tigers are reeling from a beat down at the hands of rival Alabama.
The Tigers dropped to #9 in the country after the loss to ’Bama. Their vaunted RB Leonard Fournette was mysteriously ineffective against a Crimson Tide defense that really rose to the occasion.

Yet, Fournette is still a load for virtually any team’s defense, and the rather Swiss-cheese Razorback unit should get steamrolled by the multi-purpose sophomore.
Arkansas
Last week, the Hogs showed that they can score a ton of points, and they don’t have to just do it with the ground game. Senior QB Brandon Allen threw the ball plenty versus Ole Miss in a wacky 53-52 OT win, where the victory was secured with a wild lateral play and a two-point conversion in the extra frame.
Allen threw six TDs in that contest, a departure from a team that usually relies on RBs Alex Collins and Jonathan Williams (the latter is currently injured).
Junior WR Drew Morgan has become a crucial part of the offense, with his 620 receiving yards and nine scores.

Tight end Hunter Henry is also a vital component to Arkansas’ offensive balance. The Hogs can still spin it on the ground, of course – Collins rushed for 108 yards on 17 carries in last week’s win.
Like seemingly so many programs in college football, the defense is a concern for Arkansas. Especially going up against an elite talent like Fournette, the Hogs’ “D” should be victimized early, and often in Baton Rouge.
LSU
Tigers fans were definitely pretty crestfallen after their loss on the road in Tuscaloosa this past week, but the Tigers must rebound quickly. LSU possesses one of the best players in all of college football.
As good as Fournette is, QB Brandon Harris’s play leaves something to be desired for the purple-and-gold. Sure, with 10 TDs to just one pick on the year, Harris does a decent job of avoiding mistakes, but he can’t give you that elite play to elevate the ballclub.
Wide receivers Travin Dural and Malachi Dupre do virtually all of the pass-catching, but with nearly 200 carries already on the season, there’s no mistaking that this offense almost entirely runs through Fournette.

As he goes, so does the Tigers offense – and the team in general.

Free Week 11 NCAA Football Prediction
Although Alabama’s supremely talented defense was able to snuff out Fournette in Alabama last week, don’t expect Arkansas’s young men to repeat that. Fournette should rip off some big gains against another LSU rival, and in doing so, will help control the clock and keep possession in LSU’s favor.
Keeping the ball out of the hands of Allen, Collins, Henry and Co. will eliminate the Razorbacks’ only chance for the upset. Arkansas can certainly score points with the best of them, which should present a challenge for LSU’s athletic defenders.
Expect them to accept the challenge gamely, which is essential for the Tigers’ playoff hopes, as they still have Ole Miss and Texas A&M on their regular-season schedule.
