The Arkansas Red Wolves knew what they were getting themselves into when they signed a deal for a non-conference game against the USC Trojans.
The Trojans are poised to make a splash in the national rankings this season as they start their ascent towards another chance at the top prize in college football.

Although things look bleak for the Red Wolves on paper, they can take solace in the fact that USC has struggled against dual threat quarterbacks and uptempo offenses in the past. If they can key on that, they could have a chance to shock the world.
Arkansas State
The Red Wolves are returning some of their top talent on the offensive side of the ball. Quarterback Fredi Knighten is back and ready to run rampant on offense, leading a charge that averaged almost 477 yards of offense per game last season. His top running back, Michael Gordon is back as well as the team’s top 3 receivers.

While the entire Red Wolves team will have their hands full, the defense will be feeling the brunt of it all. Having to stop a juggernaut offense like the Trojans possess is no easy task. They allowed an average of 27.8 points per game last season, which will not be enough to hold back the horses in this game.
#8 USC
Despite some big losses to the NFL last season, (DT Leonard Williams, RB Javorious Allen, WR Nelson Agholor to name a few) the team has insane depth and a fresh stockpile of 5 star recruits each season. Cody Kessler is back, and people are not just mentioning him in the National Title hunt, but also in the Heisman talks.
Tre Madden and Justin Davis are looking forward to taking over the production left behind by Allen while receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster will be vying for some of the big plays left behind by Agholor.
On defense, Su’a Cravens had 17 tackles for loss last season and will be looking to wreak havoc on the uptempo offense ran by the Red Wolves. Adoree Jackson will be looking to make big plays in the secondary and is joined by Kevin Seymour and Iman Marshall.

Starting the season ranked #8 overall, the Trojans will have to run a gauntlet of teams like Notre Dame, Oregon and rival UCLA in order to reach the big conversation of national title contender.

Week 1 NCAA Football Prediction
This was an unfortunate time for Arkansas State to head to Southern California and take this game. Despite their returners and their offensive style, they realistically don’t have much of a chance in this one. USC is simply just too good to let this game even be close.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: USC -27
Giving the Red Wolves a nod with a 27 point buffer sounds good, but if USC wants to be in the national title picture, they are going to need to dispatch teams like this with ease and by LOTS of points.
Week 1 Score Prediction: Arkansas State 10 – USC 48
