There is no other way to put it, the Razorbacks have not looked good this season. This is the first season of a new era under Chad Morris and it looks like the cupboard was more bare than anyone realized.

The Aggies are not going to win anything significant this season but their two losses are to the top two teams in the nation so you can’t be too harsh on them as they start their own new era under coach Jimbo Fisher.

Arkansas Razorbacks

There was a definite red flag raised when Arkansas lost to North Texas at home, highlighted by one of the most embarrassing plays of the year, a fake fair catch for a TD return. Arkansas has a long way to go to getting back to respectable it seems. .

Chad Morris is an offense guy and so far he has not got that part of the team into gear. They are only generating 374 ypg and that includes games against lighter than SEC competition. Hard to tell whether it is scheme or personnel but it just isn’t working right now.

The defense has been the stronger of the two units.  They might have given up 34 points to Auburn in their last game but the defense was actually awesome – they only gave up 225 yards in total. They probably lose anyone but turnovers, and once again special teams, killed them.

Texas A&M Aggies

Jimbo Fisher may ultimately win at A&M but that is not going to be anytime soon. Sorry Aggies fans but I think it going to be awhile before you really have a shot to be better than Alabama or Georgia or even Auburn. That means at least a couple of losses every year give or take. .

The Aggies can be better than they were under Kevin Sumlin though. Kellen Mond definitely looks like a guy who can direct a strong offense and they have moved the ball against both Alabama and Clemson so the results could be impressive against mortal defenses for sure.

Texas A&M is a heavy favourite in this one and I get it, though you have to wonder if they might be a little beat up in this one. If they do play their best game this is a number they can cover for sure either with a strong offensive or defensive showing, hopefully both.
