They then proceeded to get blown out by Texas in the Sugar Bowl, making their season a disappointment for most fans. Now back with a new OC, the Dawgs are looking to finally get over the hump that is Alabama and bring home a championship trophy.
Is this the year Georgia will finally beat Alabama when everything is on the line?
2019 Georgia Bulldogs Predictions: Team Strengths
Veteran Quarterback:
Jake Fromm has been great ever since he came in for an injured Jacob Eason a few years ago. He has led the Dawgs to a National Championship and two SEC Championships in his first two years wearing red and black. Now in his third year, the expectations are even higher for Fromm and he cannot disappoint. Having a new Offensive Coordinator may help Fromm, but it could also take a little while to get used to.
The one problem Fromm can have is playing away from Athens. I am not talking about playing at some of the weak SEC teams, I am specifically talking about teams like LSU and Auburn. I mention these two teams because Fromm struggled at Auburn in 2017 and at LSU in 2018. Georgia plays at Auburn again this season and Fromm needs to have a good game. Georgia may be a run heavy team, but there will be times where Fromm is going to have to beat teams with his arm.

Running Backs Galore:
Georgia may have lost Elijah Hollifield to the NFL draft, but they still have several guys in line waiting to get their chance at the running back position. This season, the Dawgs will return DeAndre Swift, and James Cook. They also eagerly wait the return of former #1 running back, Zamir White. White suffered a knee injury in a practice before the 2018 season and was forced to miss the entire year. If White can return at full health, he will be a huge addition to the Georgia backfield.
There are also five other running backs on the roster that are freshman, so Georgia will continue to be heavily in the run game.
2019 Georgia Bulldogs Predictions: Team Weaknesses
Wide Receivers:
The Bulldogs are extremely young at wide receiver after the dismissal of Jeremiah Holloman. However, a guy like George Pickens is already making a name for himself after making a catch in practice that went viral. The good news is that Jake Fromm has had the entire offseason to work with these younger guys, so there is a good chance that they will be well in-sync by the time the season kicks off.
The lack of veteran receivers will also give Demetris Robinson, a Junior, the opportunity to be more involved. In 2018 he had 4 rushes for 109 yards and a touchdown. He did not have a single catch either, which is strange given how athletic he can be.

Kirby Smart Game Management:
Kirby Smart has been a great coach so far for Georgia, but at times he makes very questionable decisions. Whether it be clock management or calling a fake punt against the Tide in the SEC Championship, Smart will need to be better in this department. Adding a new OC could help the play calling and take some of the pressure off of Smart.
Georgia Bulldogs Prediction: 12-0
Georgia was given a favorable schedule this year as they avoid Alabama and do not play LSU because of their meeting last season. They do play Notre Dame, but this time in Athens, which gives the Dawgs the edge. Their hardest game is easily at Auburn and behind that has to be Florida.
I expect Georgia to run through their schedule and get back to Atlanta with no problem. The SEC East is still weak compared to Georgia and I do not see a game that they will lose in their division. The one question mark will be the game at Auburn. I still give Georgia the edge because of their depth at most positions and the leadership they have with Jake Fromm.
I would not be surprised if Georgia and Alabama meet in the SEC Championship while both holding undefeated records. If this happens, it may not matter who wins because the committee will likely give a playoff bid to both schools.

Plain and simple, Georgia has one goal this season and that is a National Championship. Winning the SEC would be great, but if Georgia does not end the season as champions, many in Athens will deem the season to be a bust.
