Do the Cowboys take a step back this year? Or will they find a way to keep winning with what they have on the roster?
2018 Oklahoma State Cowboys Predictions: Team Strengths
Star in the Backfield: When Justice Hill came to Oklahoma State, everyone had high hopes for what he could become, and there is no question that he has turned into a star.
He is a Junior now, but there is a really good chance, that this is Hill’s last year on campus as he will probably be going to the NFL draft after this year.
Last year Hill ran for 1467 yards and six touchdowns. The six touchdowns seem a bit low, but that is because Mason Rudolph was throwing a lot of touchdowns.

With not as much emphasis on the passing game this year, that means more pressure put on the Junior Star. He has the talent to hit 2000 yards this year, and if he can stay healthy, I think he can do it.
Mike Gundy: Mike Gundy is known for his mullet, but he is so much more than that, and he has shown that year after year after year.
It doesn’t seem to matter who he puts on the offense, they always find a way to thrive and that should be the case again this year.
There are a ton of questions surrounding this team on that side of the football, but with Gundy as the coach just put your faith in him.
2018 Oklahoma State Cowboys Predictions: Team Weaknesses
Quarterback?: The big question for the Oklahoma State Cowboys is who the quarterback is going to be. With Mason Rudolph graduated, there is no question that the Cowboys are going to be taking at least a bit of a step back at that position.
Hawaii grad transfer Dru Brown and last year’s backup, Taylor Cornelius will battle for the starting job, with Cornelious probably having a step up.
Under Mike Gundy’s system, the quarterback is usually given the chance to flourishes, so I am not sure this is a weakness, but it’s a question for sure.

Questions in the Secondary: Once again not so sure this is a weakness, but there is a ton of questions in the secondary.
Tre Flowers and Ramon Richards are both gone out the secondary and that is going to be big losses. They have a ton of question marks in the secondary, starting with who will fill in there.
If they want to have success this year, the secondary is going to be the key to that.
Oklahoma State Cowboys Prediction: 9-3
Boise State is going to be a tough game, but that is at home so that should give them the edge. Besides that game their non conference schedule is a bunch of cupcakes.
There are a lot of questions, but this isn’t the first time that has been the case for this Cowboys team, and they still seem to thrive.

I think they will get those three losses again, and although they won’t be as good as the Oklahoma State Sooners, this will still be considered a successful season.
