2018 Football Preview – Big 12 – Jayhawks
Looking for 2018 Kansas Jayhawks predictions? It’s a good thing the Kansas Jayhawks are a basketball school, because this has been a terrible decade for the football team, and nothing looks like it’s going to change soon. They have stuck with David Beaty even though the results have been terrible, but this could be a make or break year for him.

Will this be the year that the Jayhawks can win three or four games? Or will it be a struggle to win one game again?
2018 Kansas Jayhawks Predictions: Team Strengths
Some Stars on Defense: There really isn’t many strengths for this team, but one is the defense even though stastically they were the worst team in the Big 12 last year.
They didn’t get much help from the offense last year, and they had a lot of short fields to work with which made their stats look a lot worse than they actually were.
Daniel Wise was a force on the defensive line last year and he was a force to be reckoned with. He finished with seven sacks last year, and with some more good guys lining up to him this year, look for his stats to even pick up more this year.
The linebacker’s are led by a Joe Dineen and is probably an all conference player this year if the rest of the defense can step up around him.

The defense might not actually look that much better this year stats wise, but if the offense can play better that would go a long way in the way the defense looks.
Low Expectations: The other big bright spot on this team is that there are zero expectations for this team.
If they can win three games this year, they might have a parade through the streets of Lawrence. They are going to have to take a step forward to save the coaching staff’s jobs, but right now it appears that the expectations are low.
2018 Kansas Jayhawks Predictions: Team Weaknesses
Secondary: The Kansas Jayhawks defense is going to be improved but it’s all going to come down to how well the secondary can play for how much improved it will be.
This year the secondary has some players who can really hit, and they might be fun to watch, but the question is how well can they cover.
This team came away with only four picks last year, and that has to be more this year. The secondary is going to be improved, but it’s still going to be a weakness.

Talent Level: The big weakness overall is just the talent level of this team. Beaty hasn’t done a great job recruiting and that is what will do them in again this year.
He has a lot of JUCO players, but in this type of program JUCO isn’t the way to build a program, especially this far in the rebuild.
Kansas Jayhawks Prediction: 1-11
Nicholls Stat eshould be a win, but after that it is really going to be a struggle to find wins. This is supposed to be the year the next step is taken, but I don’t see that happening.

I think this team will finish with one win, and that David Beaty will be let go after the season is over.
