2017 Football Preview – SEC – Aggies
Looking for 2017 Texas A&M Aggies predictions? It was yet another frustrating year for the Aggies who for the third straight year went 8-5. After Kevin Sumlin went 11-2 in his first year at Texas A&M the Aggies have progressively gotten worse.

Eleven wins, nine wins, and eight wins the last three years with losses in their bowl game the last two years. I look for that trend to continue and we’ll see if Sumlin survives. If he does, he’ll have one of the hottest seats next year.
2017 Texas A&M Aggies Predictions: Team Strengths
Leaning On Old Faces: Texas A&M has made their name based on their offense, but even old reliable might not be so reliable this year. There are question marks surrounding this team. The good news is that they can lean on their experienced offensive line.

Junior left tackle Koda Martin will protect the blind spot of presumed starter Jake Hubenak. And Christian Kirk is an extremely quality wide receiver who will be counted on as the go-to receiver.
Ground & Pound: If the Aggies struggle in the air, at least they’ll have two reliable halfbacks they can go to in sophomore Trayveon Williams and Keith Ford. Look for a heavy dose of these two halfbacks throughout the season.
2017 Texas A&M Aggies Predictions: Team Weaknesses
The Defense: The Texas A&M Aggies have had some good and even great defensive players over the years, but as a whole they’ve been horrible. They lost Myles Garrett to the NFL Draft which means their defense won’t be getting any better any time soon.

The Aggies have trouble stopping the pass and they are soft in stopping the run. The lone bright spots in those areas are senior safety Armani Watts and defensive tackle Zaycoven Henderson. But, as we talked about, the Aggies have had good and even great players, but everyone else around them is terrible.
This seems to be the case this year, as well. Watts and Henderson are good players, but who else will step up? They had Garrett last year, but he had little help around him. Maybe seniors Jarrett Johnson and Qualen Cunningham will step up to the plate.
Texas A&M Aggies Prediction: 6-6
The Aggies will get their fair share of wins given the weak scheduling nature of the SEC. The Aggies have three automatic wins and they have a ridiculous eight home games this year.

More than likely, the Aggies will lose at least three of their four road games and against Alabama, as well. That leaves them at 4-4 with the other four games up for grabs.
This isn’t a very good Aggies team, but considering they have eight home games to work with, they should be a bowl eligible team.It wouldn’t be a surprise at all, though, if they finished 5-7 for the year.
