2017 SEC Season Football Preview
Looking for 2017 SEC Conference predictions? The SEC Conference seems to be considered the premier college in football from top to bottom. But every year it seems that the Alabama Crimson Tide are the team that comes out on top, and that was the case again last year. The Crimson Tide blew the doors off the Florida Gators in the Championship game winning by a final score of 54-16.

So will Alabama win another SEC title this year? Or will someone else step up and steal the crown away from the Crimson Tide?
2017 SEC Conference Odds: Alabama Crimson Tide -140
It should be a surprise to no one that the Alabama Crimson Tide are the favorites to win the SEC Championship again this year.
After falling just short of winning a National Championship when they lost to the Clemson Tigers in the championship game, and losing ten players to the NFL, Nick Saban and the Alabama fans don’t seem to concerned, they know their team will be just fine.
The Crimson Tide are led by Jalen Hurts at the quarterback position who has been a really good addition for the team. He has a strong arm and can really control the offense, but he adds a wrinkle to the offense that Saban isn’t used too, he can run the ball.

Last year he ran for 954 yards which was second on the team. The one thing that he could improve on is his deep ball. At times last year his deep ball would float on him and that caused some issues.
On the defensive side of the ball the Crimson Tide did lose a lot of talent to the NFL, but with the way Alabama recruits, it probably won’t matter.
I still expect the defense to be the bread and butter of this team. I think they will have no issues shutting down opposing teams and that will lead them to success.
2017 SEC Conference Odds: LSU Tigers +500
Ed Orgeron had the interim tag taken off of him and was named the permanent head coach at the end of last season.
LSU like Alabama has had really good defenses, but unlike Alabama they have really struggled on offense especially at the quarterback position.
But they brought in a new offensive coordinator in Matt Canada who should help turn that around. He is well respected around the coaching ranks, and LSU is expecting big things from him.

The defense should still be really good this year, so it’s going to come down to how well the offense, and the quarterback can improve. If they can take a big step forward this team can maybe knock off the Alabama Crimson Tide.
2017 SEC Conference Odds: Georgia Bulldogs +700
Kirby Smart is a defensive coach and that is expected to shine through when the Georgia Bulldogs hit the field to start the season.
Last year they were a top 20 defense and with most of the starters back, this team has a chance to even be better. They will probably be the best defense in the SEC, and should be top five in the country at the worst.
The big question for the Bulldogs is can sophomore quarterback Jacob Eason take the next step forward. He started as a true freshman last year and was good but he had some growing pains.
If he can take that next step forward, the rest of the league needs to watch out for the bulldogs.
2017 SEC Conference Odds: Auburn Tigers +700
One of the biggest strengths for the Auburn Tigers could actually turn into weakness.
They have two really good quarterbacks on their roster but they are in an open competition for that job. If they can’t decide a starter and go to a quarterback by committee it could spell some trouble.

If the quarterback play is Elite though this team has a chance to turn some heads and win the title, but it’s a long shot.
