2017 Football Preview – MAC – Bulls
Looking for 2017 Buffalo Bulls predictions? The Bulls endured a very brutal 2016. Buffalo went 2-10 last year, taking a step back from their 2015 season of 5-7. If the Bulls want to be competitive in the MAC conference this year, the Offense must do better than 10th in total offense in the MAC conference. That won’t get it done in 2017.

2017 Buffalo Bulls Predictions: Team Strengths
Quarterback Play: Sophomore Tyree Jackson is the most talented player on the Buffalo offense this year. The 6’7 245 pound quarterback looks to build on a solid 2016 season.
Jackson passed for 1,772 yards, nine touchdowns and nine picks. He also rushed for 399 yards last season.
This year Jackson looks to avoid the sophomore jinx by improving his passes down the field. Last season he averaged 5.7 yards per throw. One of the lowest averages in the country.

With hopes high for Tyree Jackson in Buffalo, the Bulls have a chance to be better if he performs well. The offensive line returns four starters form last year, including Rutgers transfer Jaquis Webb, who should contribute instantly.
Do it all linebacker: Khalil Hodge is back to star at linebacker for the Bulls. Hodge is one of the only bright spots on a bad run defense.
Hodge is ranked as the best defensive player on the team coming into camp, and rightfully so. Hodge had 123 tackles, one sack and seven tackles for a loss in 2016.
With Hodge doing everything on the Bulls defense, the Bulls need Demone Harris to get more pressure on the quarterback this year and Jordan Collier to emerge as a presence at outside linebacker.
2017 Buffalo Bulls Predictions: Team Weaknesses
Who’s Out Wide?/ Defensive Line: The Bulls had the lowest scoring team in the MAC last season. How will the bulls win with no offense?

Kamathi Hosely only had 19 catches last season, and is the teams leading returning receiver. 19 catches won’t get it done. Someone else on the Bulls depth chart needs to step up. That could be Anthony Johnson.
Johnson could be a weapon on the outside for Tyree Jackson. The junco transfer sat out last season and has been around the system for a year. Coaches are optimistic he can step in and be the number one.
Sprinkle in K.J Osborn and Antonio Nunn, the Bulls might have some production at wide receiver.
Buffalo needs to stop the run. They gave up and unprecedented 3,039 yards rushing last season. Not to mention giving up 10 running plays of 40 yards or more last year!
There are too many questions to be answered by a suspect defensive line and wide outs with little to no experience. Looks like Jackson will be in for another long year as the Buffalo quarterback.
Buffalo Bulls Prediction: 2-10
The Buffalo Bulls will be bad again this season.
With the talent surrounding quarterback Tyree Jackson, I thought there was only one way to go, up. I might be wrong about that.
With a veteran offensive line, the Bulls will be hopeful the run game can get them more than two wins. Running backs Jonathan Hawkins, Theo Anderson, Kamerio Pickett will have a run by committee backfield.

If Tyree Jackson can get out of the pocket, and create plays with his legs, hopefully the MAC’s last ranked passing team and offense can be better in 2017.
