WHERE EACH TEAM STANDS HEADING INTO WEEK 12
Week 11 of the NFL season is in the books and what a Week it was. A new #1 almost emerged this week but I just couldn’t pull the trigger on the Rankings change. The Packers woke up and the Cardinals saw a bump thanks to a win at home against the Bengals on Sunday night. Week 11 brought about one of the biggest one-week shakeup in the Rankings in some time – some of the top dogs lost games that they were supposed to have while some lesser teams stepped up and had themselves quite a Sunday.

So where does your favorite team sit heading into Week 12?
Let’s take a look.
1. New England Patriots
(10-0) Last Week – 1
I was tempted to move the Pats down after Monday night’s game but they are where they belong – on top where they have been all year. New England got I done against Buffalo Monday night without Edelman and having lost Aaron Dobson and Danny Amendola during the game.

They weren’t great but their performance against Buffalo wasn’t enough to knock them off their perch.
2. Carolina Panthers
(10-0) Last Week – 2
We knew the Carolina defense was top notch but how about 44 points and 5 TDs from Cam Newton on offense? Cam Newton looks to be on an MVP path without a respectable receiving corp. and the defense once again proved to be one of the best in the game against a previously Hot Washington Redskins offense. The Panthers are the best team in the NFC right now until someone proves otherwise and an easy #2 this week.
3. Arizona Cardinals
(8-2) Last Week – 4
The Cards made a pretty big statement on Sunday night beating the Bengals with an offensive explosion against a pretty good Cincinnati defense. JJ Nelson was the difference in the game. Who you ask? Exactly! The Cards are one of the deepest teams in the game right now – as balanced a club as there is as well.
4. Green Bay Packers
(7-3) Last Week – 7
The Packers finally showed up on Sunday and beat down a very good Vikings team. Aaron Rodgers was decent – not great but Eddie Lacy finally put up some numbers – 100 yards in the win. The defense also sacked Teddy Bridgewater six times and held Adrian Peterson in check.

Green Bay resembled a team ready to make a run this year – not one that looked awful the previous three weeks.
5. Cincinnati Bengals
(8-2) Last Week 3
The Bengals played OK on the road Sunday night but still dropped a decision to the Cardinals. A good sign is that the offense put up some points on a very good Arizona defense. The bad news is that the Cincinnati defense was shredded by Carson Palmer and crew. I still like this team – they are where about they should be – #5 rather than #3.
6. Denver Broncos
(8-2) Last Week – 8
What to do, what to do if you are the Broncos brass. Brock Osweiler was at the helm as the Broncos snapped a two game losing streak – he went 20-27 for 250 yards and ZERO interceptions. I am not sure if Denver is or isn’t a better team with Osweiler but they are 8-2 and worthy of top 6 spot.
7. Pittsburgh Steelers
(6-4) Last Week – 6
The Steelers were off this week on their bye but you have to like the direction they are pointing with Ben Roethlisberger getting an extra week to rest his ailing foot. Pittsburgh is a dangerous team indeed as we head down the stretch – they could be the surprise of the AFC!
8. Minnesota Vikings
(7-3) Last Week – 5
The Vikings were due for a dud and that is what they got on Sunday in a loss to the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau – no shame in losing a game in Wisconsin! Still, the defense was exposed a little bit and the offense had a difficult time against Green Bay’s defense. Is there now a formula for defeating the Minnesota Vikings? Hopes in Minnesota that the answer in “No”.
9. Buffalo Bills
(5-5) Last Week – 9
The Bills played the Patriots tougher than any team has so far this season – they did some good things to keep them in the top 10 – LeSean McCoy was terrific and the defense was a nuisance all night long. Sammy Watkins was invisible however – that will change!
10. Seattle Seahawks
(5-5) Last Week – 11
The Seahawks are a tough team to figure out for sure. They looked very good on both sides of the ball against the 49ers but who doesn’t? Thomas Rawls was sensational in place of injured Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson had his best statistical game of the year so far. Seattle’s defense was OK as well. Seattle is still a top 10 team in my books – we’ll see if they stay here next week after facing some real competition.
11. New York Giants
(5-5) Last Week – 10
The G-Men had the week off – they are still tops in the NFL East. Jason Pierre-Paul makes the defense a whole lot more formidable and the duo of Manning/Beckham are as dangerous as any in the league. The Giants should be better than .500 but just can’t seem to get over the hump for some reason.

12. Indianapolis Colts
(5-5) Last Week – 13
The Colts sneak into the dirty dozen this week – barely. It seems that simplifying the game under Matt Hasselbeck did this team some good. The Colts were picked by many to get to the Super Bowl this year – I’m not quite ready to give up just yet.
13. Kansas City Chiefs (5-5) Last Week – 18
14. New York Jets (5-5) Last Week – 12
15. Chicago Bears (4-6) Last Week – 16
16. Washington Redskins (4-6) Last Week – 15
17. Houston Texans (5-5) Last Week – 29
18. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-5) Last Week – 23
19. Atlanta Falcons (6-4) Last Week – 14
20. New Orleans Saints (4-6) Last Week – 20
21. Dallas Cowboys (3-7) Last Week – 24
22. Philadelphia Eagles (4-6) Last Week – 17
23. Oakland Raiders (4-6) Last Week – 22
24. St. Louis Rams (4-6) Last Week – 21
25. Miami Dolphins (4-6) Last Week – 19
26. Detroit Lions (3-7) Last Week – 26
27. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-6) Last Week – 31
28. Tennessee Titans (2-8) Last Week – 27
29. Baltimore Ravens (3-7) Last Week – 25
30. San Diego Chargers (2-8) Last Week – 28
31. San Francisco 49ers (3-7) Last Week – 30
32. Cleveland Browns (2-8) Last Week – 32
