So which Studs are locks for a big week? Let’s take a look at the top 5 Fantasy QB plays for Week 5.
1. Tom Brady, Patriots
vs. Dallas Cowboys
It is impossible to look at any other QB as #1 this week – Brady is on fire and now gets a crack at a Dallas defense that could be without a few key contributors on Sunday – the Boys are #20 against the pass so far. Brady has 11 TDs on the season with ZERO interceptions and has averaged just over 288 yards per game.

Off a bye, Brady’s revenge tour will likely see him throw for 320+ yards and 3 TDs – he’s as much of a lock as there is at the QB position this week.
2. Aaron Rodgers, Packers
vs. St. Louis Rams
Rodgers was efficient last week – he didn’t exactly take his owners over the top! I like that to change on home field this week as he takes on a tough Rams team that has some weaknesses in their secondary. Rodgers has averaged 291 yards passing in his two home games so far and has 7 TDs in those contests.
I expect him to light it up this week and get everybody involved. 300 yards and 3 TDs isn’t too much to ask at all!
3. Carson Palmer, Cardinals
vs. Detroit Lions
Palmer has been terrific so far this season – no reason to think differently about his game against the 0-4 Lions on Sunday. Palmer and the Cards will be motivated to avenge their first loss of the season last week – he threw for 352 yards in that game.

Larry Fitzgerald has taken his game to a different level, Michael Floyd is healthy and John Brown continues to be a solid contributor. The Cardinals will be a stellar passing team all season long folks – no reason to sit Palmer against a Lions team that has been a tad vulnerable against the pass. 300 yards and 2-3 TDs is a reasonable expectation this week.
4. Matt Ryan, Falcons
vs. Washington Redskins
The Falcons have been scoring points in bunches this year – I expect more of the same on Sunday. The Skins have played solid run defense so far meaning that the pass will have to be heavily utilized if they hope to go 5-0.
Sam Bradford went for 270 yards and 3 TDs last week against Washington – imagine what Matt Ryan will be able to do to this team! He’s a lock to go for over 250 yards and he should be able to generate 3 TDs as the Skins hold Devonte Freeman down.
5. Philip Rivers, Chargers
vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Rivers has been terrific so far this season – he went for 404 yards in Week 1 and had 358 yards 3 TDs against the Browns – he can throw up monster numbers indeed. Against a pretty bad Steelers secondary I like that trend to continue.

Getting Antonio Gates back from suspension will only help his cause. I like Rivers to near the 300 yard mark again this week and throw 2-3 TDs – good enough for top 5!
