Guards
Trae Young, ATL (@ CLE) $7.2 DK
Trae Young is the perfect opposite to the rookie with whom he will always be connected: Luka Doncic. The Hawks rookie is a boom-or-bust prospect, while the Dallas Mavericks’ guard has such a polished, refined game that you know you’re going to get solid production most nights, even if the ceiling isn’t as high on a night-in-night-out basis.
NBA’s newest rivalry aside, Trae Young is set to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night, and while Young’s Boom-or-Bust potential isn’t going away, he’s far more likely to go boom than go bust.
The Cavs are the worst team in the league and the only franchise without a win. It just fired its head coach. Kevin Love sounds like he may be sidelined for a month. Collin Sexton has been extremely underwhelming.
What does all of this mean? It means Trae Young is set to go off in a big way.
Rodney McGruder, MIA (@ CHA), $6.2 DK
[dfads params=’groups=38073&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
Rodney McGruder continues to be the NBA’s most surprising up-and-comer. At 27 years old, the Heat guard/forward has jumped from 16.6 minutes per game a year ago to 34.4 in 2018-19. The sample size remains small, but he’s averaging a downright shocking 16 points per game while collecting 7.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists while shooting 54 percent from the field and 54.2 percent from deep on nearly five three-point attempts per contest.
McGruder may come back down to earth at some point this season. After all, 27-year-olds rarely break onto the scene the way this guy has.
But guess what: That’s not happening Tuesday night against the Charlotte Hornets.
Draft this guy.
Forwards
Jaren Jackson Jr, MEM (vs WSH), $5.5k DK
Jaren Jackson has had a relatively quiet start to his rookie season, at least as far as the national attention goes. But he’s off to a strong start.
So far this season, Jackson is posting 13 points and 5.6 rebounds per game while blocking 1.2 shots a night. On Tuesday, the Grizzlies are going up against a Wizards team that’s just 25th in Defensive Efficiency.
The Wizards also run the second-fastest pace in the NBA. Consider Jackson a good value pick here.
Larry Nance Jr, CLE (vs CLE), $6.2 DK
With Kevin Love set to potentially miss some significant time, you have a few options to consider in your lineup. There’s Jordan Clarkson, who is the team’s second-leading scorer behind Love. There’s Cedi Osman, who is having a strong, albeit inconsistent season as the Cavs try to navigate their first season post-LeBron James.
We’re, however, going with Larry Nance Jr—at least for this contest. The Atlanta Hawks are still without John Collins, and Nance has been looking for an opportunity to break out.
This is that opportunity.
Centers
Nerlens Noel, OKC (vs LAC) $4.3k DK
Nerlens Noel represents a risky, but potentially valuable pick. He earned his first start in almost an entire calendar year this past Sunday in Steven Adam’s absence, and boy, did he show up.
On the night, Noel posted 20 points and 15 rebounds while collecting four steals, a block and a 64.3 percent shooting clip.
The risk comes from the fact that the showing came against a lowly Phoenix Suns team—not to mention that Adams may be back and ready for action.
Keep an eye on Adams’ status leading into the game. But even if he plays, the Thunder know they have a shiny new tool they can show off in Noel at either center or power forward.

One last thing. Remember… at the end of the day if you can’t afford to gamble online OR play at Draft Kings and Fan Duel then STOP. We know most DFS players need action, heck we do too, so just bet what you can afford.
Don’t go chasing money in high dollar GPP’s. Stick to cash games, and try to play on bigger slates. Avoid those night time 2 games slates. Your bankroll will thank us later.
