Guards
Kyrie Irving, BOS, $7.29 DK, $8k FD
Kyrie Irving has a nice matchup on Thursday night. He’s up against a Washington Wizards squad that is just 20th in defending DFS guards this season, and a John Wall-less Wizards squad nonetheless.
Irving is coming off a down performance against the Toronto Raptors, but don’t hold that against him. Toronto had everyone’s number that night.

Against the Wizards, there should be a lot of offense from both backcourts. And that definitely benefits Irving.
Klay Thompson, GSW, $6.3k DK, $6.5k FD
Klay Thompson is a high-upside player with a low floor and a low cost on Thursday against the Dallas Mavericks. He’s 9/10 always going to produce a lower score than his Warriors teammates Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry, but he’s 10/10 always going to be more affordable, and by a longshot.
Forwards
Paul George, OKC, $8.8k DK, $8.6k FD
Keep an eye on Paul George up until 3:00 p.m. ET. That’s when the NBA’s trade deadline officially passes, and that’s when George becomes not just a safe play, but a given on Thursday.
Assuming George survives this year’s deadline, he’s a very strong pick for an even stronger performance. He’s going up against a Lakers squad that not only ranks 22nd against his position in DFS, but it’s the same Lakers he’s trying to impress ahead of 2018’s free agency.
If George is still on the Thunder roster as of 3:00 p.m. ET, draft him. No doubt about it.
Zach Collins, POR, $3.6k DK, $3.5k FD
If the Blazers don’t make any moves on Thursday before the trade deadline, don’t draft Zach Collins. That’s an order.
However, if the team does swing a deal, it’s almost guaranteed to involve players who play the 4 or 5: Mo Harkless, Ed Davis, Jusuf Nurkic included.
If the Blazers make a trade on Thursday—and one of the aforementioned bigs goes—Collins will have an opportunity to show out in extended minutes that could help him prove he deserves a spot in the rotation the rest of the season.
Centers
Kyle O’Quinn, NYK, $4.4k DK, $4k FD
At the risk of sounding like a broken record…check the results of the 3:00 p.m. ET trade deadline before making this pick. Kyle O’Quinn has been rumored in deals leading up to this point, and with New York looking to sell the farm following the torn ACL of Kristaps Porzingis, there’s a legitimate chance the team sells the farm and Kyle O’Quinn is part of that firesale.
All that said, if O’Quinn survives the deadline, he’s an easy pick here.
O’Quinn’s cost is low, and he’ll almost certainly enter the starting lineup with Enes Kanter out (as well as Porzingis, who will miss the duration of the 2017-18 season). If O’Quinn is dealt, look at Michael Beasley or Lance Thomas as your replacement.
Injuries/Upgrades
- OUT: Kristaps Porzingis/Enes Kanter, NYK, F/C [UPGRADES: Michael Beasley, Kyle O’QUinn, Lance Thomas]

- OUT: John Wall, WSH, G [Upgrades: Bradley Beal, Otto Porter Jr.]
- PRB: Draymond Green, GSW, F [Upgrades: Andre Iguodala, Klay Thompson]
- OUT: Aaron Gordon, ORL, F [Upgradefs: Bismack Biyombo, Evan Fournier]
