Guards
Stephen Curry, GSW (@ NYK), $10.6 DK, $9.6k FD
Stephen Curry won’t come cheap on Monday night. He never does. But while it’s often worth wondering if a member of the Golden State Warriors Big 4 is going to be worth his cost, Curry should leave you with no doubt against the New York Knicks.
[dfads params=’groups=38073&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
On the season, New York is just 24th when defending the guard position in DFS. Curry is also just one game removed from a 74-point DFS showing (44 points, 10 assists, eight three-pointers), and in his last showing versus the Knicks, he recorded 32 points, seven assists, six rebounds and hit eight three-pointers.
Joe Harris, Brooklyn (vs CHI) $4.3k DK, $3.9k FD
As much as Curry’s going to cost you, we have our eyes set on another top-tier player at a later position. (Stay tuned.) With that in mind, we have a solid value pick in mind in Joe Harris.
On the season, Harris is averaging 18.9 FPTS per game. In his last five, however, he’s averaging 26.7. And if you take out his only bad performance during that stretch, the mean jumps up to 30.4.
Forwards
Lauri Markkanen, CHI (@ BKN), $5.5k DK, $6.1k FD
Sticking with the same Chicago Bulls vs. Brooklyn Nets contest, Lauri Markkanen is an easy draft choice. Not only is he going up against a Brooklyn team that struggles on defense and runs at an incredibly fast pace (creating extra possessions), but he’s the only player on DraftKings averaging at least 30 FPTS per game whose cost is less than $6.1k on Monday.
Julius Randle, LAL (@ ATL), $7.8k DK, $7.7k FD
The truth is that depending on how you plan on spending your cash Monday night, Julius Randle may be outside your budget. But if you trust your value picks or don’t over-expose any one position, the Los Angeles Lakers’ power forward is a no-brainer.
Against Atlanta, Randle and the Lakers are taking on a team that has nothing to play for but a top draft pick. Combine that with the fact that the Hawks are nearly a bottom-10 team defending forwards and you have a solid player who can make plays both when the game is out in transition as well as when it slows down to a half-court game.
Centers
Anthony Davis, NOLA (@ PHO) $11.7k DK, $12.5k FD
Remember how we teased a second top-dollar player? Here. We. Go.
Anthony Davis is one player who, despite his high cost, you really can’t afford to fad on Monday. Yes, if he gets hurt or (improbably) has a bad game, you’re set up for success. But if all goes according to plan, you’re screwed without him.
Davis is coming off a performance two games ago that saw him become the first player in league history to record 45 points, 17 rebounds, five blocks, five assists and five steals (90.25 FPTS). The night before that he had an “off game” dropping 77.25 FPTS.
On Monday, AD goes up against a Phoenix Suns squad that is not only terrible at defense and plays at a fast pace, but is also dead last in defending centers in DFS.
Davis won’t come cheap, but he has to be on your roster in this situation.
Injuries/Upgrades
- QST: Lonzo Ball, LAL, G [UPGRADES: Isaiah Thomas, Kentavious Caldwell-Popw]

One last thing. Remember… at the end of the day if you can’t afford to gamble online OR play at Draft Kings and Fan Duel then STOP. We know most DFS players need action, heck we do too, so just bet what you can afford.
