Guards
Jordan Clarkson, CLE (vs PHO), $4.8 DK, $4.5k FD
Jordan Clarkson is coming off a terrible showing against the Phoenix Suns, but his four games prior saw him collect and average of 25.25 points. His production should well exceed his cost against a Phoenix team that might as well draw up a nightly game plan that states “Play fast, create possessions, be terrible on defense.”

Plus, we have our eyes on a certain expensive teammate of his at the forward position, so a low-cost, high-upside player early just makes too much sense.
Fred VanVleet, TOR (vs BKN) $4.6k DK, $5.0k FD
Fred VanVleet hasn’t resonated with casual fans much this season, but his DraftKings cost of $4.6k makes him a high-ceiling player on Friday. In his last two outings, he’s posting 33.63 DK FPTSPG and is averaging 27.5 over the past 10 days.
Forwards
LeBron James, CLE (vs PHO), $12.1k DK, $13.1k FD
LeBron James is a no-brainer against the Phoenix Suns on Friday. He’s been a triple-double machine as of late, his last outing saw him go for 35 points, 17 assists and seven rebounds without turning the ball over once, and the only concern is that his performance through three quarters will be so strong that he’ll sit in the fourth due to a one-sided affair.
Taj Gibson, MIN (@ NYK), $5.4k DK, $5.2k FD
The New York Knicks haven’t been very good at many things this season, which makes it all the more surprising that they’re 10th in defending DFS forwards. Luckily for Taj Gibson, the Knickerbockers have gone into full tank mode and have zero motivation to contain opponents as they boost their lottery chances with every loss.
Centers
Greg Monroe, BOS (@ POR) $5.2k DK, $5.5k FD
Friday night versus Portland, Al Horford will cost you $6.1k (DK) and Greg Monroe sits at $5.2k. It’s the latter, however, who has been far more consistent of late, so you’d be better off saving your cash against a strong Blazers defense that could render Horford useless in DFS.
