Guards
Kyrie Irving, BOS (vs WSH), $8.9k DK
Kyrie Irving may be the slate’s most expensive guard on Friday night, but at sub-$9k, he’s well worth the price tag. The Boston Celtics have lost four straight for the first time all season and are in desperate need of not just a win but some legitimate leadership on the court. Kyrie Irving needs to give that to them, and there are few better teams than the Wizards against whom you can expect a greater performance. On the year, Washington is just 27th when defending guards in DFS>
Trae Young, ATL (vs CHI) $8.1k DK
It’s rare we recommend stacking a particular position, so it may be wise for you to choose between one of Trae Young and Irving. But if you have legitimate value picks in mind (we have a great one for you momentarily), this could work well in your favor. Trae Young is really starting to kick things into gear. Which is great for the Hawks to see after trading away Luka Doncic in the 2019 draft and subsequently watching Young struggle out of the gate. Against Chicago—the 28th team this season as far as defending guards in DFS goes—Young should be able to keep his recent momentum going.

Forwards
Zach Collins, POR (@ TOR), $3.0k DK
Zach Collins is always a risky pick because his biggest impact is often felt in hustle plays and altering shots at the rim. But context is also key. Enes Kanter, the recent acquisition who was brought in to essentially remove both Meyers Leonard and Zach Collins from the stretch-run rotation, will not be playing in Toronto on Friday night because of an immigration issue. Collins should be back to getting the minutes he saw before Kanter arrived, which in the game before the All-Star break against the presumed champion Golden State Warriors was 22 minutes en route to 18 FPTS.
Jabari Parker, WSH (@ BOS) $4.7 DK
Here’s another potential value pick for you. Jabari Parker is coming off a game in which he recorded nine points, 14 rebounds, five assists and two steals (plus a three-pointer) en route to 37 FPTS. His Wizards are playing the struggling Celtics, who are just 24th this season when defending perimeter players in DFS.
Center
Jusuf Nurkic, POR (@ TOR), $7.3k
Jusuf Nurkic is playing the best basketball of his career and although he’s a lumbering center in a modern game, he should have the rare advantage of having the better first step in his matchup against Marc Gasol. Kanter’s absence won’t directly impact Nurk, who rarely sees the court alongside the Turkish backup big man.
