Neither team makes the list of top 5 Defensive plays this week however – there are some better matchups for you to exploit. To have a top tier defense is a luxury to say the least – 20 points from your D/ST is a whole lot better than 10!
So which defenses are most likely to post elite numbers and to take you over the top? Here is a look at the top 5 Fantasy D/ST plays of Week 10.
The league’s best defense will be eager to get back on the field after a substandard effort last week and they will do so without Aqib Talib.
The Broncos take on the Jamaal Charles-less Kansas City Chiefs this week and should dominate at home. The pass rush figures to give Alex Smith fits and Jeremy Maclin will likely find little room against a Denver secondary that has zero weaknesses. The Broncos are the top Fantasy defense for a reason – a matchup against a weak Chiefs offense should prove why once again.
The Bengals draw the Houston Texans this week – Brian Hoyer and Alfred Blue will be tasked with bringing down one of the best defenses in the game. The formula for any team against the Texans is simple – slow DeAndre Hopkins and stop the Texans. The Bengals have been great against the pass all season long – don’t expect that to change on Monday night. Simply put there are few weapons on the Texans – I expect the Bengals to dominate them on defense.
The Packers at home are one of the most daunting units in the game when playing at Lambeau – this week is a good week to use them.
Their opposition Detroit has been bad on the road – Matt Stafford has thrown just five TDs in four games away from home and the Lions running game has been brutal all season long. It all adds up for yet another long afternoon for Detroit. Expect a couple of turnovers, some inevitable sacks and limited yardage for Detroit this week – they aren’t that good folks!
The Carolina Panthers have been sensational defensively. Their cornerbacks are off the charts, their linebackers are among the best in the business and the D-line has been lights out recently. Their opposition this week, the Titans are a young team – good for a couple of turnovers against a top tier defense.
The Rams defense has been virtually impenetrable on home turf – this week’s opposition the Bears will likely be the latest victim of one of the best all-around defenses in the game.
The Rams at home have not allowed any wideout to catch a touchdown and no tight end scored on them since the season opener – they have allowed just five passing TDs all season long! Chicago relies on the pass for success – don’t expect much of that this week as St. Louis holds Chicago down, harasses Jay Culer and forces a few mistakes.
