Week five is in the books and we lost our remaining undefeated teams with Cincinnati and Arizona losing – neither looked very good.

They say that football is a game of inches, but when it comes to wagering on this sport it is a matter of points. I missed-out on cashing-in on my second-straight NFL two-team parlay last week by a half-point with a play of the OVER on the total line in the Giants 30-20 win over Atlanta.

The Jaguars are coming off a disappointing home loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, while the Titans completely imploded in dropping their last game to the Cleveland Browns.
The Jaguars picked up their first win of the season in Nashville a year ago and look to do the same here. They draw a devastated Titans squad that could come out flat after laying a major egg down the stretch in their last outing, giving up 26 unanswered points to the Browns in a 29-28 defeated.

The Titans collapse was the largest blown lead by a home team in the history of the league.
The Titans defense hasn’t lived up to the billing, and things won’t get any better now that safety Bernard Pollard is out for the year with an Achilles injuries. The Tians are giving up 32.3 points per game over their last four contests after picking up a solid win in their opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Tennessee ranks 29th in the league in scoring with a meager 17.6 points per game, and they rank 23rd in the total defense, allowing opponents to rack up 374.2 yards per game.

As for the Jaguars, they’re beginning to turn things around. The team allowed the Steelers to score only one offensive touchdown a week ago, and the Gus Bradley’s defense will look to build off of that performance on Sunday.
Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles needs to work on his decision-making if the team is to get into the win column. While he has shown that he has all the raw tools to be a solid quarterback at the pro level, he’s also made some devastating mistakes, throwing four interceptions in two starts.
The Jaguars haven’t done a lot to instill confidence in the betting public, failing to cover the number in each of their first four games, but with a divisional matchup on deck, they could finally be in this one right through to the end, particularly given the current state of this lousy Titans squad.
Additionally, while the total may be off the board as the oddsmakers wait on some concrete news regarding Titans quarterback Jake Locker, the under will likely be worth a look once it’s posted as the Jaguars defense has been improved of late, and the Titans offense is in big trouble.

The Jaguars are 5-1-1 ATS in the last seven meetings between these teams, while the Titans are 0-7-1 ATS in their last eight home games.
The under is 13-5-1 in the Jaguars’ last 19 games against AFC South opponents, and it is 6-2-1 in the last nine meetings between these teams.
