Once again the Pacers provided hope for their fans by bouncing back after their series opening loss at home. It was hardly a dominant victory but one that provided some hope for the rest of the series thanks to the fact that they actually got some production from Roy Hibbert.
I know some are saying the Wizards stole game one but since I thought that would happen I am of a different opinion. Washington has been a strong road team all season long and in these playoffs even stronger.
The Wizards have been cooling their heels waiting to see who they are going to play. The fact that it is Indiana is hardly a surprise and even though they lost the season series to the Pacers, 2-1, I am sure they are going into this game with a high level of confidence.
In a strange twist it was Washington that made quick work of their opponent in their round 1 series. Meanwhile even though Indiana ultimately put away Atlanta, they certainly did not look like a top team in the process.
The Wizards were missing one of their leaders with Nene out due to suspensions but it appears it might have sharpened their focus as they took a commanding 3-1 series lead heading back to Chicago.
The Bulls were in desperation mode heading into G3 and they came away with a close victory on the road.
The team that nobody wanted to face is in deep trouble as this series moves to Washington. After dropping the first two at home it is difficult to imagine that this spirited but flawed team is about to go on a series changing run.
You have to have a short memory with this stuff but I feel good seeing as I saw the Wizards game one victory coming. It is hard to pinpoint what has changed other than experience but this Washington proved throughout the season and through one playoff game that the know how to win on the road.
The Wizards are in the playoffs but I feel like there is almost nobody talking about them, either positively or negatively.
Despite fears of the worst when Derrick Rose was hurt and Luol Deng was trade the Bulls made the playoffs and are officially the team that nobody want to play in the East. Good luck Washington.
