The Bulls were dealt a major blow with Derrick Rose going down with another serious injury. He is definitely out for this one and they will have had just a single game without him in the lineup, a blowout by the Clippers to try and acclimate themselves.
The Nuggets have not gotten off to a good start this season. The are 1-4 and just lost at Phoenix who is pretty bad in their own right. In this one they get a chance to play a Utah team that is the worst in the league.

Utah is rebuilding, but they aren’t necessarily going to be short on talent either.
The Denver Nuggets began their season with three straight losses, but they’ve begun to turn it around with back-to-back wins against the Detroit Pistons and Houston Rockets. The Utah Jazz started 2012 with a win over the Dallas Mavericks, but they quickly dropped three of their next four contests. Both teams are 2-3 on the year, and both teams face off on ESPN Friday night.
The 2011-12 NBA season was Tyrone Corbin’s first full season as the head coach of the Utah Jazz. Expectations were low, but they were able to sneak into the playoffs as an eighth seed. The Jazz play in one of the tougher divisions in all of basketball, and with virtually all five teams having improved this summer, all of them will be vying for a spot in the postseason.

With just two games remaining in the regular season, both of these teams are still uncertain if they will be heading to the playoffs this season or to the golf course come Monday.

The Thunder will enter Friday night’s contest in Salt Lake City on the heels of a Thursday night bout at the Sacramento Kings.
