The College Football season may be 5-6 weeks away but our man James Hayes has been deep in study and will provide his take and 2010 College Football Predictions on as many NCAA teams as he can before the 2010/11 season kicks off.
Colt McCoy has been able to shatter most of college football’s most notable quarterback records, but breaking the SEC streak in the BCS Championship game is going to be tougher than most of his challenges. The NCAA’s winningest college quarterback lost his Heisman trophy to the Crimson Tide’s Mark Ingram thanks to a poor effort in the Big 12 Championship game against Nebraska. Facing Alabama’s top ranked defense is going to prove whether McCoy is a big game player, and could very well affect his long term NFL draft stock.
Texas will win if …
Colt McCoy has a great game. He will have to be flawless out of the spread against the Tide D. If he is not then this could be a game like Nebraska where the offense struggles.
Finally, it’s time. Say what you want about the Texas Longhorns’ right to play in the BCS Championship game, but the bottom line is that the matchup pits the nation’s top two ranked teams against each other. Ideally, that will make for an exciting football betting matchup.
