Larry’s NBA Power Ratings
Quality NBA bigs are rare commodities, but rumors persist that three of them will be on the move in the near future.

So is this the new normal for the Miami Heat? Run and preen at home for the locals, then go after it hard on the road only when the pressure builds? .
One week to go in the 2012 Regular Season and what a year it has been! There have been some great surprises, some colossal letdowns and some incredible storylines all season – Week 16 was no different! The cream is definitely rising to the top as shown in this week’s Rankings.
Thinking (way) ahead here.
Let’s say the Clippers are for real and let’s say they go deep into the playoffs.
Let’s say that they actually win the championship.
Week 15 is in the books – it was characterized by another slate of totally shocking results, underwhelming performances from previously highly ranked teams and by amazing shutout performances from some of the other elite teams in the Wild World of the NFL. The Week 16 Power Rankings certainly reflects the fluidity of the ever-changing league with just two weeks to go.
Say what you want about the NBA, but you can’t say that the pecking order changes all that much.
You gotta love the NFL! Another scintillating weekend has passed and as per usual there is some significant movement in the Power Rankings. There is a new #1 along with some serious risers and fallers on the charts. Still, the AFC dominates the top spots with the top NFC teams appearing in second tier of this week’s Power Rankings.
We haven’t yet even hit the new year and three marquee franchises are struggling. The Heat couldn’t even get it together against the gawdawful Wizards, the Celtics can’t seem to put two good games together, and in Los Angeles Kobe Bryant is doing everything he can to keep from smacking Pau Gasol on the back of the head with a rolled-up newspaper.
Another typical weekend in the NFL has passed – there certainly were some upsets that affected the Rankings in a big way. Remember a few weeks back when the NFC dominated the top end of the Rankings? Now it is AFC teams that have crept up and now occupy four of the top six. It`s officially stretch time – the cream is definitely rising to the top!
Mindful that what happens in November rarely has anything to do with what happens when snow melts in the north and real NBA basketball starts in mid-April.
Week 12 is over! Time to reflect on yet another scintillating slate of games in the ever-changing NFL. The top dogs keep winning but some in less-than impressive fashion.
What a week!
The top dogs in the league survived just barely and some new Big Dogs emerged! Some previously standout teams showed that without a QB their chances for success are hugely diminished. No other league on the planet is as fluid and as interesting from week to week – that’s why we love this game!
What a Week 10! The landscape of the NFL may significantly change the next few weeks because of the happenings in Week 10 – injuries to a host of QBs threaten to derail the plight of many teams near the top.
With Week 9 in the books it is time to take a look at the risers and the fallers in Dave B’s weekly Power Rankings. Things have remained relatively stable at the top for a few weeks now but there are a few mid-level teams looking to break into the Top 10 with some solid recent play. The cream is really starting to rise to the top – the sludge keeps sinking to the bottom.
Week 8 is over – Week 9 is just around the corner. It’s time to see which teams rose and which fell this week on Dave B’s NFL Power Rankings. There wasn’t a whole lot of change at the top for the second week in a row – the elite teams are finally doing what they are supposed to do! Still as always there was some fluidity with the Rankings.
Week 7 is in the books – time again to look at the risers and the faller in the NFL Power Rankings! The top 4 remain the same this week – a nice change in the topsy-turvy world of the NFL. Some teams have climbed – the Packers have finally woken up and some have slipped – what happened to the Ravens?
