NFL Recap: Super Bowl XLIII

Super Bowl – Steelers get the Trophy Cardinals get the Money

The Pittsburgh Steelers showed why they were the grittiest, toughest, best team in the NFL this past season by winning their second Super Bowl in four years and becoming the first team in NFL history to win six Super Bowls.

How did the Steelers do it? By having faith in their second best wide receiver, Santonio Holmes, and by simply hustling and outplaying Arizona’s defense in what almost assuredly will go down as one of the best Super Bowl winning drives in the sports’ history.

Super Bowl 43 Preview: Cardinals Betting Angle

NFL Super Bowl XLIII Betting Preview – Don’t count out the Cards

Is it really going to be that easy? Anytime the Super Bowl has been an “easy pick”, most betting fans have been burned to the ground. The Patriots in 2008? Done in by their own arrogance and the looming weight of a perfect season. To be honest, the Cardinals are in the Super Bowl for a reason, and to bet against them is a foolish concept at this point, especially without proper research.

NFL: ANOTHER UPSET IN THE CARDS?

Bettors have gone against the Arizona Cardinals in every round of the playoffs so far, and they’ve paid for it dearly.

So it’s no surprise that only 47% of the early bettors at Sportsbook.com are backing the Cards as seven-point underdogs against the Pittsburgh Steelers for Super Bowl XLIII.

Pittsburgh is going for its record sixth Super Bowl title which would put them one ahead of the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers. This is the first Super Bowl appearance for a Cardinals franchise that has historically been known for futility.

NFL Recaps: Divisional Round

NFL Divisional Playoffs – Upset Weekend Recap

I can’t think of an online sportsbook betting fan that really believed both the Philadelphia Eagles and Arizona Cardinals would win in their NFC Divisional Playoff games this past weekend.

Both the Cardinals and Eagles were online betting underdogs in their games but both came through big time.

In the AFC the AFC North Division sent two teams to the AFC Conference Championship game in the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers.

NFL Week 16 Sunday Recap

Sports betting fans had grown chilly on both teams. The New York Giants and Tennessee Titans were each coming off of losses last Sunday. There had been rumblings from NFL betting fans about whether or not either team had peaked and were now slowly getting worse right before the playoffs and not better.

NFL Sunday Re-cap: Tony Romo and the ‘Boys are Back and the Giants and Titans Continue to Show the Way

Tony Romo, playing with a bandaged pinkie, proved that you can indeed affect a reeling team when you’re the guy under center. For sports betting fans, the presence of Romo was the difference in what turned out to be a very good game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins on Sunday night.

NFL Sunday Re-cap: Giants Serve Notice and So Do Colts

What another whacky Sunday in the NFL. Sports betting fans have be thrilled at how things have been going so far this NFL season. What started out as a fairly traditional NFL season with favorites taking home most of the money, has turned into a strange, almost long-shots paradise with some of the lesser known teams in the NFL easily covering spreads.

NFL Sunday Betting Re-Cap – Giants Solidify Themselves as Best in the NFC

The New York Giants became the best team in the NFL this past Sunday for NFL betting fans when they beat the pre-season NFC East favorite, Dallas Cowboys, by a commanding score of 35 to 14. For sports betting fans, it doesn’t get any crazier than that. One pre-season favorite falls to the defending Super Bowl champion by a margin that nobody expected? Such is life in the NFL for a football betting fan.

NFL Week in Review – Week 8 Wagering Facts, Fiction and Follies

It has become crystal clear in this topsy-turvy NFL betting campaign, that nothing is as it seems for the majority of teams across the league.

Outside of a just a handful of NFL teams this season (Titans, Giants, Redskins, Panthers) nearly every team in the league has shown a serious propensity to display what I’ve long termed, the ‘Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’ symptom.

NFL Sunday Re cap – Saints Slap Chargers in London and Cowboys Break Skid

In last week’s NFL Sunday Re-cap I wrote about how the wheels had fallen off of the New Orleans Saints, San Diego Chargers and Dallas Cowboys. I alerted online sportsbook betting fans to the fact that all three of those teams had become horrible online betting propositions.

Rams Upset Skins and Cowboys Fall

What a Sunday in the NFL! Four games, count them, four were decided by three points or less this past Sunday. It was a day for online betting underdogs as some of the most talked about teams in the NFL fell to some of the more underrated squads in the league.

One of the upsets was downright daring as the Washington Redskins, easily one of the most reliable online wagering options in the NFL so far this season, fell to the previously winless St. Louis Rams.
