Golden State Warriors 12-17 (3-8 V) vs Phoenix Suns 14-19 (7-8 H)
The Golden State Warriors are exciting, but I guess not very effective.
The Golden State Warriors are exciting, but I guess not very effective.
Some of the characters have changed but there is still little extra juice in the building when the Suns and Lakers face off.
The Phoenix Suns will look to build on Sunday’s win as they prepare to dominate the Golden State Warriors one more time after having won seven straight, including three in Oakland, and 11 of the last 12 overall.
Unlike the last few seasons not many are talking about the Lakers (6-4) as being legit title contenders and, yes, they were swept by Dallas in the playoffs last season and 6th Man if the Year Lamar Odom is now in the Big D, but Kobe and Pau are playing well and Andrew Bynum has been putting up sick numbers since coming off his suspension.
NBA news: Magic will not trade Dwight Howard
It’s fun to speculate on wild trade rumors involving 2012 free agent Dwight Howard but the Orlando Magic insist that they will not trade their superstar center.
Howard has indicated he’s open to rejoining the team but that he wants to be surrounded with better players and that he’d like to be involved in personnel decisions.
Cavs to grab Irving at No. 1
Not that it’s a big surprise, but it’s almost official now that the Cleveland Cavaliers will take Duke point guard Kyrie Irving at first overall in this week’s NBA draft.
That means they’ll let Arizona forward Derrick Williams fall to Minnesota at No. 2.
Suns to buy out Vince Carter
Vince Carter’s star sure has fallen a long way. The former Rookie of the Year has averaged 22.2 points with Toronto, New Jersey, Orlando and Phoenix since starting his career in 1999. But he’s fallen out of favor to the point that he’s expendable in the desert.
The Suns plan to decline the $18-million option on Vince’s contract and buy him out for $4 million.
Carter is expected to attract interest from contending teams in need of a bench scorer. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

The Phoenix Suns home woes have been gigantic as they get ready to host the Golden State Warriors on Friday night.
The Suns are 26-21 on the year, but they’re one of the rare NBA teams where their record is similar at home (13-10) and away (13-11). Phoenix has also been awful from a betting perspective at home, where their 7-16 ATS mark is one of the worst in the league.

Detroit Pistons (8-3) @ Boston Celtics (10-2)
Although the Detroit Pistons took a few games to adjust to their new backcourt weapon, Allen Iverson, all seems to be good in Motown as the Pistons head to Boston to face the Celtics in a rematch of last year’s Eastern Conference Finals.
The Los Angeles Lakers (7-0 SU, 6-1 ATS) will try to keep their record unblemished on Friday night when they play host to the Detroit Pistons (6-2 SU, 4-4 ATS) in NBA basketball sports betting action that is set to take place at 10:30 PM ET at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Thye Phoenix Suns (6-2 SU, 5-3 ATS) seem to have hardly missed a beat, even after changing coaches. On Wednesday night they will play host to the Houston Rockets (4-3 SU, 2-5 ATS) in an NBA contest that is set to get underway at 10:30 PM ET at the US Airways Center in Phoenix.
The Phoenix Suns (2-1 SU, 2-1 ATS) pounded the young Portland Trailblazers in winning their last contest, 107-96 on Saturday in the BetUS Sportsbook. The New Jersey Nets (1-1 SU, 1-1 ATS) were scorched by the high-scoring Golden State Warriors in their last outing, a 105-97 loss, also on Saturday.
