The defending Super Bowl-champion Pittsburgh Steelers (2-2 SU, 1-3 ATS, 2-2 O/U) have struggled mightily this season but recorded a solid win their last time out, beating the dysfunctional San Diego Chargers 38-28 as 5.5-point home favorites in Week 4.
Pittsburgh is favored in most betting circles to win Super Bowl 43 by seven points. Looking over the past 18 NFL championships, teams that were favored by a touchdown and an extra point were dead even: 3-3-1.
During that same time period, favorites were 7-9-2 against the spread.
The Baltimore Ravens (13-5 SU, 14-4 ATS, 9-8-1 O/U) have been keeping their opponents on ‘lockdown’ better than a Federal penitentiary. The Pittsburgh Steelers (13-4 SU, 10-7 ATS, 9-8 O/U) have not displayed the defensive prowess of their counterparts in this contest, but find themselves in the AFC title game after emphatically spanking the San Diego Chargers in their only playoff game this season.
The Cleveland Browns (4-11 SU, 6-8-1 ATS, 6-8-1 O/U) have been money in the bank for BetUS NFL sports betting fanatics that have wagered against them five weeks. The dysfunctional Browns look to close out their 2008 regular season on a high note when they visit their longtime division rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers (11-4 SU, 8-7 ATS, 8-7 O/U) on Sunday at Heinz Field.
