2009 Conference Championships Wagering Recap

NFL Championship Weekend – Nobody called this one

The annual NFL betting grand finale called the Super Bowl is now set, and the matchup is as improbable as the wild season that gave us this year’s participants.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are early 6.5-point favorites against the Arizona Cardinals for Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa Bay after both teams won their respective conference championship games on Sunday.

Eastern Carolina Stuns The Hokies

ECU defeats the Hokies

The first big upset of Saturday just took place on ESPN with ECU defeating the Hokies of Virginia Tech.

27-22 is the final score.  Great game, tons of blocked kicks and momentum swings, but the #17 seed Hokies are starting the year 0-1.  OUCH.

Congrats to the Pirates!

Last night in CFB action Riley Skinner went 27-of-36 passing for 220 yards and three touchdowns to lead 23rd-ranked Wake Forest in a 41-13 romp over Baylor in the season opener for both schools.

European invader Spirit One went wire-to-wire to win Saturday’s 26th running of the Arlington Million at Arlington Park. Sent off as a 13-1 longshot, Spirit One returned $29.40, $10.20 and $6.00. Archipenko paid $3.40 and $2.60, and Mount Nelson paid $4.00 to show.

Gaining a spot into the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf was Mauralakana. She rallied down the stretch to take the $750,000 Beverly D. Stakes on the grass. Offensive Line Stats – Fantasy Football

We try to shed light on the no-names by ranking the top 32 offensive lines around the NFL. Just because your league doesn’t reward pancake blocks doesn’t mean the big uglies don’t count.
