The Panthers had their guts punched on Dec. 5 at Heinz Field. Playing on home turf in the Steel City, coach Dave Wannstedt’s boys endured a crushing 45-44 loss to Cincinnati, falling just short of a Big East championship and a trip to the Sugar Bowl.

Even in a somewhat pop-gun Big East conference, the Bearcats have surprised many by running the table in convincing fashion. The squad has a couple quality wins versus Oregon State and Illinois, but the final game of the season in Pittsburgh might be the stiffest challenge yet.
The Big East title is up for grabs when the undefeated Cincinnati Bearcats visit the Pittsburgh Panthers in the final week of the college football regular season.
Oddsmakers have set the Panthers as 1-point home underdogs. Pitt has won three of the four meetings between these teams, covering in their first three games. However, The Bearcats took last year’s contest, 28-21, as 6-point favorites. Cincinnati held off a fourth-quarter push from Pittsburgh, which put the final over the 48-point total.

LeSean McCoy rushed for more yards this season than he did in his terrific freshman year. McCoy gained 1403 yards (scoring 21 TD’s) and really got going toward the middle of the season. He did cool down a bit toward the end, with 39 yards against Louisville, 82 against Cincinnati and 95 against Connecticut. He is, nonetheless, the foremost offensive weapon on this field.
The Pittsburgh Panthers (8-3 SU, 5-6 ATS) coming off another nice upset of West Virginia last week, will lace ’em up with the Connecticut Huskies (7-4 SU, 5-5 ATS) in NCAA college football sports betting action between two Big East teams still looking for the best bowl game they can get to. Kickoff is set for Noon ET at Rentschler Field in Hartford, CT.
