The Jaguars are coming off a disappointing home loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, while the Titans completely imploded in dropping their last game to the Cleveland Browns.

The Jaguars picked up their first win of the season in Nashville a year ago and look to do the same here. They draw a devastated Titans squad that could come out flat after laying a major egg down the stretch in their last outing, giving up 26 unanswered points to the Browns in a 29-28 defeated.

[dfads params=’groups=63753&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

The Titans collapse was the largest blown lead by a home team in the history of the league.

The Titans defense hasn’t lived up to the billing, and things won’t get any better now that safety Bernard Pollard is out for the year with an Achilles injuries. The Tians are giving up 32.3 points per game over their last four contests after picking up a solid win in their opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Tennessee ranks 29th in the league in scoring with a meager 17.6 points per game, and they rank 23rd in the total defense, allowing opponents to rack up 374.2 yards per game.

[dfads params=’groups=66501&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

As for the Jaguars, they’re beginning to turn things around. The team allowed the Steelers to score only one offensive touchdown a week ago, and the Gus Bradley’s defense will look to build off of that performance on Sunday.

Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles needs to work on his decision-making if the team is to get into the win column. While he has shown that he has all the raw tools to be a solid quarterback at the pro level, he’s also made some devastating mistakes, throwing four interceptions in two starts.

Free Jacksonville vs. Tennessee Pick:

The Jaguars haven’t done a lot to instill confidence in the betting public, failing to cover the number in each of their first four games, but with a divisional matchup on deck, they could finally be in this one right through to the end, particularly given the current state of this lousy Titans squad.

Additionally, while the total may be off the board as the oddsmakers wait on some concrete news regarding Titans quarterback Jake Locker, the under will likely be worth a look once it’s posted as the Jaguars defense has been improved of late, and the Titans offense is in big trouble.

[dfads params=’groups=63752&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

NFL Week 6 Trends

The Jaguars are 5-1-1 ATS in the last seven meetings between these teams, while the Titans are 0-7-1 ATS in their last eight home games.

The under is 13-5-1 in the Jaguars’ last 19 games against AFC South opponents, and it is 6-2-1 in the last nine meetings between these teams.

Week 5 NFL Betting: 5 Games’ Football Odds You Have To Bet On

NFL Week 5 “Insider Betting”

Well we’re starting to see a trend in the NFL as far as Thursday night games go. The Packers kept the streak going of Thursday night blowouts with a beat down of NFC North foes the Minnesota Vikings. I may have to start putting this feature out a few days earlier to include these games as they seem to be easy money on the spread as well as the over/under.

That being said, we’ve got some Sunday games to look at to help you get your bankroll up.

As always keep checking in with Cappers Picks. We’ll be providing 4* free plays on the blog all season long, and check out our EXPERTS for guaranteed premium football plays!

[dfads params=’groups=63740&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Moving on to the weekend games now, and I’m hoping to do a bit better than my 2-3 record a week ago, bringing my season record to 12-8 in this feature. Hopefully this week turns out a bit better, and if there’s some silver lining, I went 2-3 in week two and responded with a 4-1 picks record in week 3.

Some interesting games on the NFL sched this week that I’m excited to sink my teeth into so let’s get to it, shall we?

St. Louis vs Philadelphia

Week 5 NFL Odds Eagles -7

The Eagles suffered their first loss of the season a week ago in San Franciso by a narrow margin of 26-21. Don’t let that scoreline fool you though, this game really wasn’t close.

[dfads params=’groups=63753&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Philly struggled horribly on offense and didn’t run a play in the Niners’ half until very late in the game. Special teams and defense came up huge for the Eagles in just keeping them in the game. The Eagles’ O-line is still decimated by injuries but will get Lane Johnson back from suspension this week.

No run game to speak of lately for Philly and QB Nick Foles looked very unsure of himself last week with the lack of protection and inability to lean on LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles.

Week 5 NFL Pick: St. Louis is rested and coming off their bye in week 4. Their 1-2 record is a bit deceiving, they could’ve and by all accounts should have beat Dallas and sit at 2-1. The Eagles’ last two wins have come by a combined six points. I don’t think Philly covers that touchdown spread, go with the Rams.

Arizona vs Denver

Week 5 NFL Odds Broncos -7.5 (O/U 47.5)

This is the match up I’m most looking forward to this week (maybe tied with Cinci vs New England – more on that below).

The Arizona Cardinals are a very legitimate 3-0 team. These guys are flat out good, and are terrifying on defense. The Cards have yet to give up more than 17 points in a game this season. Both teams are coming out of bye weeks so expect them both to be at the top of their games.

Denver is a machine at home however and there doesn’t seem to be any defense that can really silence them. They went into Seattle and hung 20 points on a defense that many consider to be the best in the league and nearly invincible at home.

[dfads params=’groups=66501&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Week 5 NFL Pick: That 7.5 point spread is not at all enticing and I won’t go near it. The Cardinals don’t have the offense to get into a track meet with Denver and the D is going to need to step up in a big way. Look for Arizona to slow the pace on offense to keep Peyton Manning on the sidelines and try to win a grind ’em out game. Take the under in this one.

Baltimore vs Indianapolis

Week 5 NFL Odds Colts -3.5

Well it looks as if the Colts have found their rhythm on offense. Granted in their last two games they have faced some weak opposition in the Jaguars and Titans but racking up 44 and 41 points against those two respectively has the Colts at 35 points per game and first in the NFL for points per game.

Baltimore won’t keel over and let the Colts walk on them but Baltimore is a 3-1 team who I don’t think is anywhere near that good. They squeaked out a win over the Browns two weeks ago and beat up on a hapless Panthers team last week. Indy is going to bring it to the Ravens and really test their mettle this week.

Week 5 NFL Pick: When the Ravens faced a strong Cinci offense in week one, the Bengals had their way with them. Baltimore’s lone road game this season was a narrow win over the Browns. Look for Indy’s offense to continue rolling this week and win this one while covering the 3.5 points.

Cincinnati vs New England

Week 5 NFL Odds Bengals -1

A prime time home game for the Patriots and they aren’t the favourite? Getting blown out in the Monday nighter against the Chiefs probably didn’t help their cause with the odds makers this week, but still, -1 is essentially a pick’em.

The Bengals are a very good team, and they’re rested after their week 4 bye. New England is in trouble this week and though I’ve said earlier this year to always go with Tom Brady after a loss, this time it’s really hard to get behind the Patriots.

New England just doesn’t have enough weapons on offense and Brady has struggled because of it. As has long been the case with the Pats, the team wins and loses with Tom Brady.

Cinci has been dominant this season, their offense is very good, and their defense is good enough for what their offense is capable of. This is a statement game for the Bengals, as beating the Pats in New England in prime time will go a long way to cementing themselves as a legitimate AFC powerhouse.

Week 5 NFL Pick: Cinci gets it done this week, thus creating a huge downward spiral for the Pats. Cinci is just a better team in all facets, and all that the Pats really have going for them is that Tom Brady is still their QB. Take Cinci to win this one.

Pittsburgh vs Jacksonville

Week 5 NFL Odds Steelers -6

This is a game that I would’ve been dreading as a trap game for the Steelers this week, had they actually been able to beat the Bucs last week.

[dfads params=’groups=63752&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

A win in convincing fashion last week for Pittsburgh would’ve had them as a much larger favourite (somewhere in the 10 to 11 point range), instead they come in favoured by less than a touchdown.

That should be all the motivation the Steelers will need to blow out the Jags who are downright terrible. Getting away from home will be good for Pittsburgh this week who have not been convincing at Heinz field, earning a narrow last minute field goal victory over the Browns in week one, and a disappointing loss to Tampa a week ago.

At 0-4 the Jags rank dead last on defense in points per game allowed (38), total yards allowed per game (451) and pass yards per game (321). It doesn’t get much better on offense where they’ve managed just 14.5 points per game (31st in the NFL) and 279 total yards per game (also 31st).

Week 5 NFL Pick: A six point spread should be treated like a slap in the face for the Steelers who will be looking to right the ship after last week’s catastrophe against Tampa. Pittsburgh wins this one big.

Week 4 NFL Betting: 5 Games’ Football Odds You Have To Bet On

NFL Week 4 “Insider Betting”

Week four of the NFL season kicked off much the same as week three, with a blow out. The New York Giants trounced the Washington Redskins and it looks like I’m going to have to start including Thursday Night Football in this feature as it seems lopsided games are prevalent.

This week’s match up between the Colts and Jaguars was probably pegged as a walk in the park for Indy, even before the season got underway. What many people likely didn’t see coming is that both teams would be at 0-2 records after two weeks of play.

[dfads params=’groups=63753&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Okay, perhaps most predicted that the Jags would still be without a win, but the Colts are 0-2 for the first time since 2011 when Peyton Manning went down with a neck injury. This start also marks the first time in his career that QB Andrew Luck has lost back to back games.

Since 1990, only 12 per cent of teams that start 0-2 have made the playoffs and if either team wants to buck that trend this week is a must win game.

Jaguars

Let’s start with the home team who have been pretty much par for the course to this point. The Jags are just not a good football team, it’s that simple. They showed some flashes early in week one against the Eagles, jumping out to a 17-0 lead at half, only to lose by a count of 34-17. In week two against another NFC East opponent in the Washington Redskins, they were torched by backup QB Kirk Cousins to the tune of 41-10.

[dfads params=’groups=66501&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

If there’s one shred of a silver lining for the Jags this week it’s that they will get the comforts of home cooking, as their first two games of the year were on the road.

The Jags rank dead last in yards per game on offense 30th in points scored per game and dead last in points per game allowed on defense. It’s going to be a long year, sorry Jags fans.

Colts

If the Colts ever needed a game against Jacksonville, this is certainly it. After opening their season against two potent offenses in Denver and Philadelphia, the Colts get a break against one of, if not the worst offense in the league this week.

The Colts and Jags share not only their 0-2 records, but they were both victimized by Philadelphia Eagles comebacks. On Monday night the Colts looked to be in firm control and were eating the Eagles alive with their run game, storming out to a 20-6 lead at the half.

In the second half the Eagles made some adjustments on D and shut the run game down, and the Colts never quite recovered. Their defense ran out of gas late and the pace of Philly had them reeling.

[dfads params=’groups=63752&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

NFL Week 3 Betting Trends

  • IND are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 vs. AFC South.
  • IND are 13-3 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.
  • Under is 17-5 in IND last 22 vs. AFC South.
  • JAC are 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 home games.
  • Under is 13-4-1 in JAC last 18 vs. AFC South.
  • JAC are 3-8-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.
  • Road team is 10-4 ATS in their last 14 meetings.

This week will be a different story, if the Colts jump out to a big lead at half, they should have no trouble closing the deal against an offense that has scored just three second half points to this point in the season.

Week 3 Colts vs. Jaguars 4* Free Pick

I don’t really see any reason why the Colts shouldn’t roll the Jaguars in this one. Seven points is very generous to Jacksonville and if this game were being played in Indy, I’d expect it to be more in the realm of 14 points.

ATS Pick Colts -7 (-105)

Home field won’t help the Jags out much this week as the Colts are a playoff caliber team that is going to be out for blood this week after a disappointing 0-2 start.

The second week of the NFL regular season got rolling on Thursday with the Baltimore Ravens walking all over the Pittsburgh Steelers 26-6. 2011 NFL Betting – Offensive Rookie of the Year Futures

The 2011 NFL regular season might kick off in September. A lot depends on the legal battle between the NFL owners and the NFLPA, as of right now we may not have a season to look forward too. Just in case its on thought we’ve already got a ton of Week 1 point spreads and over/under lines articles up for all the games in week one.
