NFL Week 1 Game Capsules

NFL Betting – Week One Wagering Review, Week 2 Preview

Despite a 10-3 record for week 1 so far, I am not a happy camper this morning, as two of the three games I dropped were big ‘question mark contests’ that I initially thought may go the other way from the outset.

Nevertheless, we produced some solid results that should help NFL betting enthusiasts to break the bank in a big way heading into Week 2.

Redskins vs Giants Week 1 Spread

Redskins vs Giants: Can Eli Win Without a WR

Game-day: 9/13/2009

Kick-off: 4:15 pm EST

The Redskins invade New York to take on the Giants in a game where the NFL betting no doubt will hot and heavy! The G-Men were one of the top teams in 2008 ATS, but without Plaxico Burress and with nobody stepping it up during the pre-season to take his spot, there is talk that quarterback Eli Manning is going to have a tough time getting the ball downfield.

Bodog NFL Week 1 Preview

NFL Preview – Week 1 – September 9, 2009

This time, it counts.

Not that we can’t enjoy spending the money we’ve already made off the NFL preseason. But the people around the water cooler probably weren’t all that keen about starting their office pool until this week – the start of the 2009 regular season.

It is what it is. Those of us who have been working the preseason will have the jump on the rest of the market when the inevitable injuries happen and those anonymous reserve players are pressed into service.

Week 1 Titans vs. Steelers Preview

NFL Week 1 Matchups – Titans, Steelers get the regular season underway

LOOKING FOR THE BEST NFL CAPPERS ONLINE? —–>

The highlight of NFL Week 1 betting could come on Thursday, when the defending Super Bowl champions from Pittsburgh will welcome Tennessee to Heinz Field, which hasn’t been kind to the Titans in recent years.

Titans vs Steelers odds – Thursday, September 10, 8:30 PM ET – Steelers -6

The Titans settled on Kerry Collins over Vince Young at quarterback, but it’ll be interesting to see how long that arrangement lasts. Whoever the pivot is, they’ll have LenDale White and Chris Johnson in the backfield again, but there isn’t much at receiver.

Looking Ahead: Week 1 NFC Odds

The opening week of the NFL season presents football bettors with a wagering conundrum. Once the schedule is set for the season, most sportsbooks post their Week 1 betting odds – giving bettors all summer to dissect and over-analyze the spreads and totals.

Some bettors jump on these odds early, hoping nothing drastic happens between then and kickoff. Other gamblers wait until minutes before the coin toss before placing their wager.

The confetti in Steeltown is still settling five months after the Pittsburgh Steelers’ run to the top of the AFC and eventual Super Bowl title.

The Steelers caught a lot of football bettors off guard last season. They were among the favorites to compete in the AFC, but with a wet-behind-the-ears coach and injuries to key players, sportsbook odds were quick to pass over Pittsburgh as a real contender.

NFL Recap: Super Bowl XLIII

Super Bowl – Steelers get the Trophy Cardinals get the Money

The Pittsburgh Steelers showed why they were the grittiest, toughest, best team in the NFL this past season by winning their second Super Bowl in four years and becoming the first team in NFL history to win six Super Bowls.

How did the Steelers do it? By having faith in their second best wide receiver, Santonio Holmes, and by simply hustling and outplaying Arizona’s defense in what almost assuredly will go down as one of the best Super Bowl winning drives in the sports’ history.
