The La Salle Explorers (1-1 SU, 0-1 ATS, 0-1 O/U) couldn’t hold off Florida State in the second half of their 65-61 loss at Tom Gola Arena Tuesday night. The Connecticut Huskies (2-0 SU, 0-1 ATS, 0-1 O/U) pounded nearby Hartford 99-56 at home on Monday without floor leader A.J. Price.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish (1-0 SU) got their 2008-09 season off to a solid start with their season-opening 94-58 win over South Carolina-Upstate. Things haven’t been so good for the Loyola Marymount Lions (0-3 SU, 1-1 ATS, 0-2 O/U) who have dropped three straight games in the BetUS Sportsbook to kick off their season.
Illinois Fighting Illini’ (2-0 SU, 0-1 ATS, 0-1 O/U) have gotten off to a solid start and enter tonight’s contest having won two straight games in the BetUS Sportsbook. Vanderbilt Commodores (1-0 SU, 1-0 ATS, 0-1 O/U) also looked very strong in winning their 2008-09 regular season opener this week.
The Seton Hall Pirates, (2-0, 1-0 ATS, 0-1 O/U) have started the season on positive note, blowing out Saint Francis on opening night and most recently, Columbia last Sunday. The Southern California Trojans, (2-0, 1-1 ATS, 1-1 O/U) have also won their first two games of the young season. Most recently, defeating New Mexico State, 73-60 on Monday.
The college basketball season is slowly but surely get underway. It will be a while before people start paying a lot of attention, but it’s never too soon to start making some college basketball predictions. College basketball culminates in the single best spectacle in sports, but there is a lot of excitement and intrigue between now and the madness of March.
