The Philadelphia 76ers arrive in Miami on Wednesday ready to close out their a miserable 2013-2014 NBA regular season against the slumping Heat, who have already locked up a No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Philadelphia (18-63) has had a season to forget. And after posting the second worst record in the NBA, will look forward to getting one of the top picks in the NBA draft.
The 76ers are just 8-32 on the road this season going 3-7 in their last 10, which included a 113-108 win over the Boston Celtics on Monday, behind favorite to win Rookie of the Year, Michael Carter-Williams’ 21 points, 14 rebounds and six assists

Carter-Williams is on fire as of late, shooting at least 50 percent from the field in six of his last eight games.
Meanwhile, the two-time defending champion Heat, will face either the Washington Wizards or Charlotte Bobcats in the first round of the playoffs, meaning this contest has no bearing on anything for them. So it is doubtful that they will play many of their starters — at least very much.

Miami (54-27)rested LeBron James in Monday’s loss to the Wizards, while Dwyane Wade played just 18 minutes, before joining his fellow starters on the bench. Wade, who is working his way back from a hamstring injury, is expected to play Wednesday, however.
The Heat also rested Chris Bosh against Washington, as Miami lost its fifth of its last seven games. The Heat trailed by as many as 36 points in the loss, despite a great performance from veteran all star Ray Allen
The Sixers and Heat have split two meetings this season, including an upset by Philadelphia in its home opener on Oct. 30.
In that one, the Sixers led the Heat by as much as 19 points, holding on for a 114-110 win behind Carter-Williams’ 22 points, 12 assists and nine steals. Nevertheless, Miami has won its last 10 home games versus Philadelphia.
Matt’s Prediction:
While Philadelphia has little to play for here, they should catch a break, as the Heat will be more interested in preparing their players for the postseason with a little rest.
Because of the unsure status of who will be playing though, I think the safe play here is on the over/under, once it is released.
