Orlando will hope to end their 10-game head to head losing streak against the Raptors.

Orlando

The Magic are coming off a one-point win in their second game in two nights, both played against the Hawks.

[dfads params=’groups=63742&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Small forward Tobias Harris hit a 20-foot jumper at the buzzer to beat the Hawks on Saturday night 100-99. Harris is the second leading scorer on the team with 18.5 points per game, right behind Nikola Vucevic who pours in 18.6 per night.

Vucevic is the starting center for the Magic and will return tonight to play the Raptors. He missed the previous six games with a lower back sprain. The seven-footer has put up impressive numbers this year when he has been on the court. He averages a double-double, 11.7 rebounds along with his 18.6 points.

Point guard Victor Oladipo has been on fire lately averaging 18.1 points per game on 54.7% shooting in his last seven games. Oladipo will be faced with a tough matchup tonight when he has to guard Kyle Lowry.

[dfads params=’groups=63727&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

If the Magic hope to be competitive in this game, Oladipo must contain Lowry and have another good offensive performance.

Toronto

The Raptors own the best record in the East, although they are only 5-4 in their last nine games. Tonight they hope to get star shooting guard DeMar DeRozan back in the lineup from a torn left abductor. Before he went down he was averaging 19.4 points per game with 4.2 rebounds.

Toronto has a very balanced starting line-up, offensively and defensively. As a team, they average 107.9 points per game which is good for second in the league. In the past they have always been able to score the ball, but this year their defense is the reason for their success. The Raptors are a stunning 10-0 this year when holding their opponent under 100 points.

Power forward Amir Johnson and small forward Terrence Ross have been major contributors to the Raptors success as well. Collectively they average about 22 points per game and 9 rebounds. The forwards have been spectacular on defense, especially in the absence of DeRozan, and have had the responsibility of locking down the opponents top scorer.

Ross is coming off a season-high 22 points along with Lowry who added 21 points, 11 assists and six steals.

[dfads params=’groups=63741&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

However, Lowry had a career high nine turnovers which added to the teams highest turnover game of 24.

NBA Handicapping Trends:

  • Magic are 5-0 ATS in their last five games vs. a team with a winning % over .600
  • Magic are 4-0 ATS in their last four games following an ATS win
  • Raptors are 0-4-2 in their last six Monday games
  • Raptors are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games

NBA Gambling Prediction

The Raptors are still learning to play without DeRozan and have begun to figure it out. Tonight’s game will be determined by the guard play of Oladipo and Lowry.

Free 4* NBA Betting Pick: ORL +7

Oladipo will continue to rip it up and win the battle against Lowry, but it won’t be enough to win outright.

Toronto 103, Orlando 99

Look for Orlando to cover the spread though, they have been playing well and with the return of their center they will keep it close.

The Bucks are coming off their biggest win of the year after defeating the Clippers 111-106 on Saturday night.

Milwaukee

Tonight the Bucks will begin a four-game road trip out West with hopes of getting their record above .500. Milwaukee has had a very impressive season thus far compared to last year. They are only three wins shy of tying last years season win total of 15.

[dfads params=’groups=63742&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Saturday’s win over LA snapped a two game losing streak and broke their skid of five losses in the last six games. Milwaukee is full young talent with lottery pick forward Jabari Parker and 6 foot 11 inch small forward Giannis Antetokounmpo. Parker, the rookie out of Duke, has not disappointed by averaging 12.5 points per game to go along with 5.6 rebounds. Giannis has been adapting to the game very well, he is also averaging 12.5 points per game with 5.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists.

Milwaukee’s leading scorer is point guard Brandon Knight who averages 17.4 points per game. He is arguably having one of his best seasons averaging 5.6 assists and 4.6 rebounds. Playing alongside Knight is the six-year man from USC, O.J. Mayo.

[dfads params=’groups=63727&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Mayo is one of the best shooters in the league, but has been struggling this year. He is only averaging 10.8 points per game and is shooting a career-low 39.9% from the field.

For the Bucks to win this contest out west, they will need big performances out of their young stars.

Phoenix

Before dropping the last five games the Phoenix Suns were 12-7. During the losing streak, the Suns are allowing 108.2 points per game which ranks in the top three in worst scoring defenses. Their offense has not been producing at all either. The Suns are usually one of the top scoring teams in the league averaging 104.7 points per game on the year, but during the streak they are averaging only 100.6.

The offense all starts with point guard Goran Dragic. He is averaging 16.1 points per game to go along with 4.0 assists. Dragic has been banged up thus far this year and his status for tonight’s game is questionable with a strained lower back.

His other partner in the back court is shooting guard Eric Bledsoe. Bledsoe is statistically having one his best years averaging 15.6 points per game along with 6.0 assists and 4.8 rebounds.

The anchor in the paint for the Suns is power forward Markieff Morris. He has to play well and defend the paint if the Suns want to have any chance of winning.

[dfads params=’groups=63741&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Despite the rough five game streak for Phoenix, rookies Tyler Ennis and T.J. Warren have been showing signs of potential by combining for 19 points, five boards, and five dimes.

NBA Handicapping Trends:

  • Suns are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 Monday games.
  • Bucks are 10-22 ATS in their last 32 games following a S.U. win.
  • Bucks are 2-6 ATS in the last eight meetings head to head.
  • The Favorite is 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings.

NBA Gambling Prediction

I expect to see the Suns play with intensity and end their five game losing skid. Gerald Green will have to contribute off the bench and Markieff Morris will have to play Jabari Parker tough.

Free 4* NBA Betting Pick: PHX -4.5

Phoenix will come out and end their losing streak.

Phoenix 113, Milwaukee 102

Bledsoe will fill up the stat sheet and contain O.J. Mayo.

Golden State

Entering Monday’s contest, the Warriors hold the best record in the NBA and have a franchise record 12-game win streak going. They are currently the only team in the league to have both of their starting guards average over 20 points per game.

[dfads params=’groups=63742&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Stephen Curry is having an MVP caliber season and is averaging 23.2 points per game to go along with shooting guard Klay Thompson’s 21.2.

It’s no surprise that both guard are performing at high levels, but the Warriors have received other major contributions. Draymond Green is averaging 13.5 points per game, after only averaging 6.5 last year. Small forward Harrison Barnes is putting up 11.6 points per game to go along with 6.4 rebounds.

The loss of David Lee has proved to no problem at all. Draymond Green has stepped up and is having a career year in scoring and shooting from the three point line.

[dfads params=’groups=63727&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

As a team, the Warriors are shooting 38.4% from three and average 107.1 points per game. Both of these marks rank near the top of the league.

Minnesota

The Timberwolves bring the leagues worst record into this game on Monday. Defense has not been their strong suit thus far this year. As a team, the Timberwolves are surrendering 112.7 points per game.

Despite their ugly record, there are some positives. The Timberwolves have young star Andrew Wiggins, who has had some impressive moments so far in his young career. Wiggins is averaging 11.4 points per game.

Rookie point guard Zach LaVine is averaging 19.5 points per game with 7.5 assists in replacement for veteran point guard Mo Williams.

Minnesota dropped their five in a row the other night in San Antonio, but received a great effort from LaVine. He had 22 points and 10 assists.

[dfads params=’groups=63741&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

The Timberwolves have a lot of young talent and it will be interesting to see how they respond to playing the best team in the league.

NBA Handicapping Trends:

  • Golden State is 8-3 ATS in its last 11 games.
  • Minnesota is 1-5 ATS in its last six home games.
  • Golden State is 4-1 ATS in its last five road games.
  • Total has gone OVER in 10 of last 13 Minnesota games.

Look for the Warriors to continue their dominant road win streak against the beat up Timberwolves. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson will thrive against the rookie guards who will be checking them. I think as long as the Warriors keep their starters in for a majority of the game, they won’t have any problem covering the spread.

Golden State was won five of the last six in Minnesota, covering the spread in all of them.

Free 4* NBA Betting Pick: GS -13.5

Although that is a lot points to be giving, scoring points is no problem for Steph Curry and company.

Golden State 107, Minnesota 92

With the Timberwolves giving up near the most points per game in the league, the Warriors will put up over 100 and cover the spread.

NBA Odds: Brooklyn vs. New York Picks

Tuesday NBA betting action sees the Brooklyn Nets taking on the New York Knicks in New York, NY. Cappers picks provides free NBA handicapping tips all season long.

This battle of New York features two teams going through extreme offensive shooting woes.

They both are coming off losses and need to get a win to get their seasons’ back on track.

Brooklyn

The Nets enter this contest off an 18-point blowout loss to the Bulls and dropping two of their last three. Coach Lionel Hollins has been experimenting with the line-up, interchanging veterans to improve their shooting percentage.

[dfads params=’groups=63742&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Brooklyn is shooting 29.3% behind the 3-point line, which ranks third last in the league.

The Nets are led by veterans Deron Williams, Kevin Garnett, and Joe Johnson. Last game they shot a miserable 2-14 from three and sharpshooter Joe Johnson shot 1 for 7.

Interior passing has been the Nets biggest strength thus far. Power forward Kevin Garnett and center Brook Lopez are mostly responsible for this, they both have been excellent passers throughout their career. The Nets average 20.2 touches within 12 feet of the hoop which puts them in the top five.

[dfads params=’groups=63727&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Despite the good ball movement, the Nets are only averaging 98.9 points per game. In order for the team to score more and win, point guard Deron Williams needs to shoot the ball well.

New York

The Knicks are led by rookie head coach Derek Fisher. Fisher is faced with the challenge of implementing the triangle offense.

Star small forward Carmelo Anthony is averaging 23.7 points per game, which is down from his previous season total. New York has really been struggling to learn the new offense, they only average 93.4 points per game. Similar to the Nets, the Knicks do not have a problem moving the ball.

They average 362.3 passes per contest, which is good for second in the league. The back court of Shumpert and Calderon average a total of about 20 points per game, which is not a good number based on their shooting abilities.

The Knicks front court is missing center Andrea Bargnani due to a hamstring injury, which has proved to be a significant loss.

New York has oddly shot the ball much better on the road as opposed to playing at Madison Square Garden. Last home game against the Heat, the Knicks shot 3 for 24 from behind the arc.

[dfads params=’groups=63741&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

To win games this year, the Knicks will need to get big performances out of Carmelo Anthony and sixth man J.R. Smith.

NBA Handicapping Trends:

  • Knicks are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games.
  • Nets are 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 Tuesday games.
  • Under is 4-0 in Nets last four overall.
  • Under is 12-2 in last 14 games in New York.

NBA Gambling Prediction

The Knicks will struggle to score in the new triangle offense. Carmelo Anthony’s back is still bothering him, but he still will not hesitate to put up all his shots. New York will struggle to defend the front line of Brooklyn and the absence of Bargnani will be apparent.

Free 4* NBA Betting Pick: Brooklyn -1

Expect a big game from Deron Williams and Joe Johnson to get his shooting back on track.

Brooklyn 101, New York 88

Brooklyn will take advantage of the point guard matchup and Kevin Garnett will thrive in the post.
