NASCAR Sprint Cup Series 2010 Season Recap
For the third time in five years, the driver who won the most races in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series did not win the championship.
For the third time in five years, the driver who won the most races in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series did not win the championship.
With eight races left in the NASCAR Sprint Series before the start of the Chase for the Sprint Cup, there are a number of star drivers both inside and outside the current top 12 in danger of missing out on a chance at the big pot.
Tony Stewart won the Coke Zero 400 but not without controversy. Kyle Busch, the BetUS favorite in the race, attempted to block Stewart late in the race, but Stewart, as he often does, made a race winning move that resulted in Busch’s car spinning out of control.
Busch crashed and Smoke won. Smoke actually deserved the victory as he led most of the laps in the Coke Zero 400.
The Sprint Cup racing series makes a stop in Northern California this weekend for the Toyota Save Mart 350 at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma.
betED.com has Kyle Busch as a +450 favorite in Auto Racing Betting Odds, followed by Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon, both at 550.
Matt Kenseth is the top dog in NASCAR right now after winning at Daytona. NASCAR’s first race of the season was real letdown after rains came down on the racetrack.
Some the major players didn’t fair to well in the BetUS Sportsbook either namely Kyle Busch who finished outside of the top thirty at Daytona.
For the online betting community with the need for speed, February means two things—Online NASCAR betting & Daytona 500! Unlike most sports, NASCAR’s Sprint Cup series opens its season with the biggest event of the year. The Daytona 500 is NASCAR’s ”Super Bowl” and marks race 1-of-36 on the season’s schedule. The Great American Race not only starts the 2009 campaign, its the most prestigious and famed race in all of motorsports.
NASCAR begins its season February 7th with the Budweiser Shoot-out. Then, after the Gatorade Duel 1 and Gatorade Duel 2, NASCAR really heats up on February 15th with the Daytona 500.
As always, BetUS Sportsbook will be there offering some of the best online wagering possible for NASCAR betting fans.
The NASCAR sports betting community anxiously awaits Sunday’s Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, which concludes the Chase for the Sprint Cup and the 2008 online NASCAR wagering campaign, as Jimmie Johnson and Hendrick Motorsports looks to become a dynasty with a back-to-back-to-back championship runs. NASCAR betting nation is well aware Johnson’s one race from possibly joining Cale Yarborough as the sports only other three-peat champion.
It’s the final race of the NASCAR season and Jimmie Johnson has pretty much secured his third straight NASCAR Cup. It’s an amazing feat. I’m not sure anybody else has ever done that.
Of course, the rules changed recently which allowed Johnson to coast through the regular season, just enough to get into the Chase, where he knew that his crew and his cars would outrun everybody. Still, from a sports betting point-of-view, Johnson is an absolute stand-out.
There are only two races left for Carl Edwards to catch Jimmie Johnson. I don’t see it happening, but sometimes craziness reigns in NASCAR. Sports betting fans have to consider Jimmie a prime candidate for online bet of the year.
It’s do or die for Carl Edwards this weekend, as he must finish ahead of Jimmie Johnson in the Checker O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 at Phoenix International Raceway to keep his rival from all but locking up his third straight NASCAR championship. That leaves NASCAR betting fans with two options this weekend, and the same two on the Cup futures odds.
While the NASCAR betting championship might be a foregone conclusion—yes, Jimmie Johnson will win again—that doesn’t mean there’s not plenty of NASCAR betting value on the board at BetUS.com this weekend. The good ol’ boys will travel to the hotbed of Texas for this week’s Dickies 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. And wouldn’t you know it, there’s a familiar name at the top of the track averages standings…
There are only four races left and unless one of the most dominant figures in all of online sports betting somehow doesn’t suit up for the final races, it’s all over but the shouting.
While the rest of the BetUS online sportsbook world has been concentrating on the Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championships, the NFL, and the MLB playoffs (for good reasons of course!), Jimmie Johnson has slowly dominated the Sprint Cup Chase.
Jeff Burton has five races in which to catch Jimmie Johnson. For online wagering fans that have placed a NASCAR online bet on Burton, things don’t look too good. Johnson was masterful last Saturday night when holding his second place position in the Bank of America 500.
That’s all you can hope to expect from Jimmie at this point. Burton won the race but Jimmie held serve.
Jimmie Johnson will be looking to make it four wins at Martinsville Speedway in the past five races on Sunday afternoon when he hits the track in the TUMS QuikPak 500. However, those that did any NASCAR betting on Johnson last weekend weren’t happy.
The series standings leader started from the top spot on the grid last time out in the Bank of America 500 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, but he then had to settle for a sixth-place result.
Here’s how the 12-driver field stands in championship points in the 2008 Chase for the Sprint Cup heading into Saturday evening’s Bank of America 500 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, starting at 7:40pm EST as postseason race 5-of-10.
