NBA Handicapping Predictions – Magic vs Bulls
TNT will have Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic going against Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls in their opening game this Thursday night.
TNT will have Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic going against Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls in their opening game this Thursday night.
The Miami Heat finished the first half of the season on a nine-game winning streak. Not only were the Heat winning those games, they were blowing everyone out of the water.
After a nice comeback win in Philadelphia last night, the Oklahoma City Thunder own the best record in the NBA at 28-7.
A couple short weeks ago the Milwaukee Bucks were playing great basketball and the Orlando Magic were in a terrible funk. Fast forward to today and the roles have been reversed.
Minnesota actually got above .500 for a brief time a few days ago, but the Timberwolves have lost three straight since.
The struggling Orlando Magic will meet up on Saturday with a much-proved, surging Indiana Pacers team that has surpassed the century mark in at least three contests leading up to tip off, after failing to reach 100 points in 13 straight games.
If there was ever a good spot for some revenge this is it. Orlando was beaten 87-56 earlier this week by the Celtics.
The news in Orlando hasn’t been very cheerful of late since Dwight Howard wants out of town. It hasn’t seemed to hurt the team’s play, as the Magic have started 6-3.
The big question for the Bulls heading here, is whether or not leading scorer Derrick Rose will be ready for the team’s upcoming road matchup with the Orlando Magic on Friday.
NBA news: Dwight Howard wanted more say in Magic trades, may play overseas
Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard was in the news for multiple reasons yesterday. First off, Superman told a radio station that he had wanted a bigger say in the trades Orlando made during the 2010-11 season.
NBA news: Magic will not trade Dwight Howard
It’s fun to speculate on wild trade rumors involving 2012 free agent Dwight Howard but the Orlando Magic insist that they will not trade their superstar center.
Howard has indicated he’s open to rejoining the team but that he wants to be surrounded with better players and that he’d like to be involved in personnel decisions.
Cavs to grab Irving at No. 1
Not that it’s a big surprise, but it’s almost official now that the Cleveland Cavaliers will take Duke point guard Kyrie Irving at first overall in this week’s NBA draft.
That means they’ll let Arizona forward Derrick Williams fall to Minnesota at No. 2.
Suns to buy out Vince Carter
Vince Carter’s star sure has fallen a long way. The former Rookie of the Year has averaged 22.2 points with Toronto, New Jersey, Orlando and Phoenix since starting his career in 1999. But he’s fallen out of favor to the point that he’s expendable in the desert.
The Suns plan to decline the $18-million option on Vince’s contract and buy him out for $4 million.
Carter is expected to attract interest from contending teams in need of a bench scorer. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

As the basketball betting favorites to win the NBA title this year, Cleveland and the Los Angeles Lakers get the honor of leading our postseason NBA Power Rankings as we prepare for the second season to start on Saturday.
1. (1) Cleveland Cavaliers (66-16): They just missed tying the record for home wins, but they pushed Philadelphia to overtime with their scrubs.
Even NBA betting players were focusing on the NCAA Tournament, but with the playoffs coming up, the NBA power rankings are returning with a new No.1 team, and some movement in the top 10.
1. (2) Cleveland Cavaliers (63-15): The Cavs finally take the top spot, but a blowout loss in Orlando last Friday is worrying. Sunday’s visit from Boston should be entertaining.
2. (1) Los Angeles Lakers (62-16): The Lakers didn’t do much to lose the top spot, but losing in Charlotte didn’t help. Andrew Bynum should be back very soon to join the Lake Show for their playoff run.
