The 13th-seeded Manhattan Jaspers and the seventh-seeded Louisville Cardinals will tip off in Midwest Region play in the late game at the Amway Center in Orlando.
Louisville’s Russ Smith and Connecticut’s Shabazz Napier have had plenty of glorified moments in their collegiate careers; Saturday presents a chance for one of them to put an exclamation point on their senior seasons as the two of conference’s elite guards get an opportunity to go head-to-head.
Louisville is 14-13 ATS with an O/U record of 13-12 and SMU is 17-8 ATS with an O/U record of 9-15. This season SMU is 15-0 at home and Louisville is 8-2 on the road.
Temple is 10-13-1 ATS with an O/U record of 11-12 and Louisville is 14-11 ATS with an O/U record of 12-11.
I feel like Louisville is constantly disappointing this season but they only have 4 losses and a #5 next to their name despite the fact that they are looking up at Cincinnati in the standings of the AAC.
The defending champs have looked ready to defend their title this season. Losses to Kentucky on the road, and North Carolina at a neutral site, show this team is not as strong as last year’s edition but they have been obliterating every one else on their schedule.

The 21st-ranked Louisville Cardinals look to continue their quest for retribution after their loss to Central Florida when they host the Memphis Tigers in a showdown matchup in The American.
When the Conference USA teams joined the American Athletic it was supposed to make it a pretty diluted league this season – but I doubt Louisville is thinking that right now. They have already been beaten once by former CUSA champ in Central Florida and if they are not careful another one, Houston, will beat them up too.
Louisville has fallen pretty far off the national radar since losing to UCF a few weeks back. This week they travel to a winless UConn team – yes I was surprised by that too as this is usually a middle of the pack program.
The Louisville Cardinals have found their way to a No. 8 ranking in the college football polls after an impressive 6-1 start to the 2013 season.
The Central Florida Knights arrive in Louisville fresh off a win and aiming to make their mark in a key American Athletic Conference bout on Friday night.
Its hard to believe it is already week 7 of the college football season…it goes by so fast. So far Louisville has passed every test pushing the Cardinals all the way to the #8 spot in the country. Still there is not a ton of respect for them even though Ohio is playing better and better each week and they crushed the Bobcats in the opener.
