It’s been another lackluster year at best for the Minnesota Timberwolves as the team waits to find out its 2010 NBA Draft position and for Spanish star and former draft pick Ricky Rubio to finally make up his mind.
Meanwhile for the Heat, Dwyane Wade is single-handedly keeping the team alive in the East while also keeping an eye on the future and what he wants to do in free agency in 2010.
Kobe Bryant has been MIA for most of February but that hasn’t stopped the Lakers from being a decent bet at all. With his anticipated return to the hardwood tonight after rehabbing a severely injured ankle, the Lakers are going to need him to perform well against a riley Grizzlies team that is built to contend with the Lakers in the playoffs.
The Cleveland Cavaliers (20-8 SU, 13-15 ATS, 12-14-2 O/U) will be looking to get back in the win column after having their five-game winning streak snapped on Sunday.
The Phoenix Suns (18-9 SU, 16-11 ATS, 9-16-2 O/U) have alternated wins and losses over their last six games and will be looking to record consecutive victories for the first time this month.
The Utah Jazz (16-11 SU, 15-12 ATS, 16-10-1 O/U) will be looking to regain the consistency they lost just after the month of December began. After winning seven of its previous eight games, the Jazz have hone just 5-4 over its last nine game while alternating wins and losses in each of their last five games overall.
Spurs vs. Suns (-1)
(O/U) 210½
Tuesday, December 15 10:00 PM ET
Usually, an early season matchup between the Phoenix Suns (16-8 SU, 14-10 ATS, 7-15-2 O/U) and San Antonio Spurs (12-9 SU, 10-11 ATS, 11-10 O/U) doesn’t mean very much in the grand scheme of each team’s playoff mindset.
Lakers vs. Bulls (+10½)
(O/U) 194½
Tuesday, December 15 8:00 PM ET
Having lost eight of its last 10 games, the Chicago Bulls (8-14 SU, 5-15-2 ATS, 7-15 O/U) have plenty of problems of their own to deal with right now. Rumors are buzzing that the franchise is set to fire head coach Vinny Del Negro and the team has not shown much to believe in all season long.
Tip-off: 10:30 pm EST
Pau Gasol may play tonight for the Los Angeles Lakers. Rumor has it that Coach Phil Jackson wasn’t too happy with how Gasol’s little stint on CSI: Miami on Monday night showed him looking perfectly fine.
Tip-of: Suns vs. Hornets at 8:00 pm EST
The Phoenix Suns have the best record in the NBA right now because not only do they play a fast paced game with the best point guard in the NBA, Steve Nash, but they have a starting five that is terrific at doing it.
Lakers (+4) at Nuggets (-4)
(O/U) 212
Tonight at 10:30 PM ET
The Los Angeles Lakers (7-1 SU, 3-5 ATS, 5-3 O/U) beat down one challenger for their Western Conference crown on Thursday. Tonight, they will look to repeat the feat when they take to the floor at the Pepsi Center for a rematch of last season’s Western Conference Finals against the Denver Nuggets (6-3 SU, 4-5 ATS, 5-4 O/U).
